Yes, I'd definitely recommend this book to a friend. This was my first book by Lorraine Heath, and it won't be my last. It has a very good story and a good romance. I'm so glad that this is the first in the series. I LOVE a good historical romance series!

The book reminds me a little of the Rohan series by Anne Stuart, but that might be because it had the same narrator. Although it is about a supposedly bad person finally being recognized as good by the 'ton'.

I think Susan Ericksen was perfect for this book although I think she has done a better job on other books. Sometimes I had a difficult time keeping the voices/characters straight because she didn't alter her voice enough. I've not had that problem with her narrations in the past.

Moving onto the next book in this series. I tend to listen to mostly books that are in a series and I like series best when characters reappear in each book. I hope I won't be disappointed with the next books in this series.

The story started off very strong with a great story line and then slagged in the middle. It finally picked up again at the end. I thought there could have been more conflict between the clans which would have made the book more exciting.

I've never listen to any other books narrated by Kirsten. I think she does a fine job and I'll listen to other books narrated by her.

I thought this book had great potential with its strong start, but it seriously lagged in the middle. I thought it would have been better if the conflict would have stayed with Marin and not moved to Ewan being the target, but It's a good steamy romance with very like able characters. The plot is also good and well thought out. I just think more could have been done to make the story a little more exciting.

I didn't enjoy the story very much at all because the narration was so bad. I've still got 4 hrs to go and I'm looking into the buying the book on my Nook to finish it. I'm just not sure I can suffer through 4 more hours.

Not really. I seriously doubt that I ever listen to this book again. That's unfortunate because I've listened to the other books in this series several times each. I've thought about returning this book, but I guess I'll keep it.

I'm not sure that I like the fact that more and more people are aware of who the Ghost of St. Giles really are. There are just too many people who know now. That makes it unrealistic for me. How can that many people keep this kind of secret?

This book was just not as good as the first book in the series. I think Ms. MacLean is a good writer and story teller, I just don't think she thought this book through before putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard).

Rosalyn Landor brings the characters to life. I feel like I know the characters personally every time I listen to a book narrated by Ms. Landor.

Considering that this book is the second book in a series, it's missing the key key characters from the first book, Penelope and Borne. Also, considering that Penelope is Pippa's sister and Borne is a co-owner of The Angel, you would really think that they would have role in this book. However, Penelope has ONE conversation with Pippa and Borne is only mentioned. How can the author expect this story to go over well when Penelope and Borne have no interactions with Pippa and Cross? It just doesn't make sense.

I anxiously waited on this book for 6 months or more because I loved the first book so much and I'm so disappointed with this book. There were so many conversations between Pippa and Cross with him imagining what he would like to do with her and it just got old after a while. I believe that Pippa and Cross deserved a better story and Penelope and Borne should have had a role in this story.

Regardless, I plan on listening to this book again in a few months and maybe I will like it better.

The story is so wonderful and so well written that I would think that the print version would be an excellent option. However, Bianca Amato does an amazing job in bringing the characters the life.

The fact that it was a true story about an amazing person and her family. I usually do not like true stories and I bought this book several months ago and had put off listening to it - what a mistake that was. The story of Charlotte Bronte and her sisters whom she loved so much has touched my heart.

This is a hard question. As I run through the various scenes in my mind, there are so many that I will probably never forget. I enjoyed Charlotte and Mr. Nicholas first walk together and the discussion of exactly what he said at the dinner table that made her hate him for so long.

I stayed up until 2 in the morning listening to the book when I got to the part where her brother and sisters die within such a short amount of time with one another and I sobbed. It was so sad that these young, talented people died so young.

There were several places in the book where I smiled to myself and even laughed, but I think the most extreme would have to be the death of her family.

AMAZING! FANTASTIC! WONDERFUL! Touching! Sweet! I loved this story and I know that I will listen to it again.

The narrator is an excellent reader and enjoyable to listen to; however, when she starts performing the characters it is not very good. I probably will not buy another book performed by this narrator. If the next book in the series was available with a different narrator, I'd probably listen to it, but there aren't another books by this author available.

The book and the story were just okay - not great!

I got almost half way through listening and finally decided to stop listening and just buy the book and finish it on my Nook. The story really was a good story, but the narrator was just not very good at all.

While I've LOVED the Bloody Jack series to date and Katherine Kellgren's performance, this wasn't one of my favorites on either account. The story was a bit too long with too many mishaps and I didn't like Ms. Kellgren's portrayal of some of Jacky's wilderness "friend" (for lack of a better word). Every time Mike Fink spoke I had to cringe just a little.

What I loved about this story, was Jaimy Fletcher's travel down the Allegheny, Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. When he was coming up with wording for the U.S.A. acronym I was absolutely doubled over in laughter. I couldn't wait to get back to Jaimy's story to hear what he came up with next. Poor Jaimy - he simply could not catch a break in this book.

If you are reading/listening to this series, you cannot skip this book. It is very good - just not my favorite.

Katherine Kellgren nails it again; however, I found that I wanted the girls to take over the bloody Bloodhound and be done with it. It was a good story, but it did drag on a bit. Cannot be missed though!!!!!

I practically sobbed near the end of the story. Jacky Faber is one special girl!!!!

Can I give the narration and the book a total of 15 stars instead of just 5 for each category - Overall, Performance and Story?

Katherine Kellgren is amazing in reading this amazing story. If you are looking for a great book that has been narrated in a fantastic way, then this book is for you.

I can't wait to listen to the next in this series.
