With the scandalous nature of her birth to live down, Isabella Fairmont dreams of a proper marriage—even if a passionless one. She saves her deepest desires for the novel she dares to pen, wherein a handsome lord with dark powers seduces her. But then her courtship with an appropriate suitor is threatened by the sudden attentions of the reclusive Earl of Black… whose pale blue eyes and brooding sensuality are exactly as she described in her book.

Where does Seduction & Scandal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty high up there. I really enjoyed this book and the narrator was fantastic. This was my first Charlotte Featherstone book and I can't wait to listen to the next book in this series.

Have you listened to any of Helen Stern’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first listen to Helen Stern and I'll definitely be listening to more books read by her.

Pirriwee Public's annual school Trivia Night has ended in a shocking riot. One parent is dead. The school principal is horrified. As police investigate what appears to have been a tragic accident, signs begin to indicate that this devastating death might have been cold-blooded murder. In this thought-provoking novel, number-one New York Times best-selling author Liane Moriarty deftly explores the reality of parenting and playground politics, ex-husbands and ex-wives, and fractured families.

Another great book by Liane Moriarty. If you are a victim of domestic abuse, this book is a must read. The book is not ABOUT domestic abuse but one of the characters is a victim of domestic abuse. I think that all woman will see themselves in at least one of these characters or maybe more than one of the characters.

It's a little hard to figure out exactly what is going on when you first start reading, just hang in there and all of the pieces will fall into place and you will be so glad you kept reading/listening.

    Great read.

Fegan has been a "hard man" - an IRA killer in Northern Ireland. Now that peace has come, he is being haunted day and night by 12 ghosts: a mother and infant, a schoolboy, a butcher, an RUC constable, and seven other of his innocent victims. In order to appease them, he's going to have to kill the men who gave him orders. As he's working his way down the list, he encounters a woman who may offer him redemption; she has borne a child to an RUC officer and is an outsider too.

Fagen is one hard man. It was hard to really understand what was going on in the beginning of the book, but once I caught on the the twelve followers and really understood them, I found it quite interesting.

The story never really stops moving. I did find it hard to believe that Fagen was still very agile and "with it" even when he was near unconscious from drinking.

I would recommend this if you like a good Irish mystery that is rather gory at times.

With her hair perfectly coiffed, nails freshly manicured and a heavy trail of perfume wafting behind her, local news reporter Dallas Dubois is sure she's about to kick her career - and maybe her love life - into high gear. The director of the Tuscaloosa children's Christmas play has fallen ill, and Dallas is ordered by her station manager to take the reins. Everyone is shocked - especially Cal Hollingsworth, who still remembers her as the Ice Queen from high school.

There were so many things in this book that I felt like were just thrown in for the heck of it. Like the fact that we learn a lot about Dallas and then almost halfway through the book, the author throws in - BTW, Dallas was married three times. The book would have been perfectly fine without that because Cal doesn't even mention the fact that Dallas has been married three times. Surely that is something a couple would at least discuss.

I can't say that I would really recommend this book. The narrator was just okay and the book wasn't that great. Not worth the credit.

Belfast, 1985. Amid the Troubles, Detective Sean Duffy, a Catholic cop in the Protestant Royal Ulster Constabulary, struggles with burnout as he investigates a brutal double murder and suicide. Did Michael Kelly really shoot his parents at point-blank range and then jump off a nearby cliff? A suicide note points to this conclusion, but Duffy suspects even more sinister circumstances.

I have really liked the Sean Duffy novels, but I'm a bit disappointed in this one. Sean is doing way too many drugs. I feel like he's completely out of control. Plus he gets beaten up pretty badly in every novel. I think Adrian needs to come up with a little different plan in the next Sean Duffy novel.

And now there’s a fifth.Maeve Kerrigan is an ambitious detective constable, keen to make her mark on the murder task force. I'm really glad that I listened to this book in the Maeve Kerrigan series last because had I listened to it first, I don't think I would have listened to the other books in this series, which are VERY good.

I found Louise to be very annoying in this book and the last hour of the book which is mostly a letter from Louise simply needed to finish!

I don't think this book is critical to Maeve Kerrigan series if you are interested in reading or listening to these books. All of the other books in the series are much better and maybe that is because of the interaction of Josh Derwent. He's a bugger and I love him! He adds to the story.

He meets women. He gains their trust. He kills them. That's all London police detective Maeve Kerrigan knows about the man she is hunting. Three women have been strangled in their homes, and it appears to be the work of the same sadistic killer. With no sign of break-ins, every indication shows that the women let their attacker in willingly. The victims' neighbors and friends don't seem to remember anything unusual or suspicious, and Maeve is almost at a loss about how to move forward with the investigation.

I just don't think Derwent is that bad. I think Maeve and Derwent actually have the hots for one another and that is what makes it so hard for Maeve. This book tells what formed Josh Derwent. I think he's fantastic and the play between Maeve and Derwent makes the murder investigations in these books even better.

I loved this book. The narration was great and the story was the best! Definitely worth the credit!

Thank goodness, Ashford McNab narrated book 7 in the Maiden Lane Series. There are a few bad narrations for a few of the books in the series. Ashford always does a great job with narration and I think she is the voice of the Maiden Lane characters. HOWEVER, I do not like the severe lisp she has given Phoebe, but all of the characters are spot-on.

I did like this book. Elizabeth Hoyt always writes a good story and a great romance. I'd definitely recommend this book.

Slight - SPOILER ALERT: Although, I REALLY liked this book, I REALLY missed the Ghost of St. Giles. I also missed the past characters. Only Phoebe and Captain Trevillion of the previous Maiden Lane characters make an appearance in this book. A couple of the characters have a few lines, but on the whole, there is no mention of previous characters that have at least made an appearance in all previous books. I found that very disappointing.

I am so excited for the next book. Finally Phoebe's story and I'm excited to see she's hooked up with the Captain. Previews show they escape to Cornwall. Wouldn't it be lovely if Charming Mickey and Silence helped out Phoebe and the Captain. (I can't remember where Mickey and Silence ended up.)

    Great book! Great listen!

I enjoyed this book. I found it to be a believable story and I liked that all of the characters from the Survivor's Club are included in the book. Of course, now I want Agnes' sister to be matched up with the Duke. I wish authors wouldn't tease us with a possible romance.

I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Rosalyn Landor is in her element and does a fantastic job with the narration.

One morning in picture-perfect Bath, England, a teenage girl's body is found on the towpath of a canal: Lorne Woods - beautiful, popular, and apparently the victim of a disturbingly brutal murder. Zoe Benedict - Harley-riding police detective, independent to a fault - is convinced the department head needs to look beyond the usual domestic motives to solve the case.

    Story

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I did think it was a little gross (I'll not give anything away) and the "grossness" could have been more believable if the male character with the mutilation plan would have been built up to be a very high profile agent instead of just a financial agent. I know that's a little convoluted, but I don't want to give too much away.

The ending really sets you up for the next book and continuation of these characters, which I liked.

Rosalyn Landor is one of my favorite narrators, but I typically listen to historical romance and I had a hard time envisioning the characters in this book with her "posh" (at least it's posh to me) British accent. Her accent is perfect for historical romance, but I didn't think it fit well in this murder mystery. BUT --- she delivers a very solid and enjoyable performance.

It's the week before Christmas when a lone robber bursts into a busy Glasgow post office carrying an AK-47. An elderly man suddenly hands his young grandson to a stranger and wordlessly helps the gunman fill bags with cash, then carries them to the door. He opens the door and bows his head; the robber fires off the AK-47, tearing the grandfather in two. DS Alex Morrow arrives on the scene and finds that the alarm system had been disabled before the robbery. Yet upon investigation, none of the employees can be linked to the gunman.

Overall I thought this was a good book, but the ending was confusing. I don't think that catching the criminal was really the primary point of this book. I just found it confusing as there are a lot of characters with several different plots.

Moira Quirk did a fantastic job.

I do like the character Alex Marrow, but I'd prefer that the book be more focused on her and her team and not so many extra characters.
