In the latest installment of Mark Tufo's zombie fallout series, Mike Talbot and his family continue their fight for survival as Eliza plots their demise.

What disappointed you about Zombie Fallout 5?

Disappointing listening to the hours of flashback stories that have nothing to do with the current plot. I have no idea how a 10+ hour book only covered about 1 day in real time in the story. I kept thinking the stories would get better with each book and I kept reading them because I was invested. But don't make my mistake. Stop after the first book or don't get started at all.

What could Mark Tufo have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have more plot covered in the books. Don't dwell for hours talking about the main character's idiosyncrasies. Have a really robust storyline where things actually happen. I get tired of the monotony of nothing happening in the plot.

Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favorite?

Reading performance is good. But this can't make up for a poor book.

What character would you cut from Zombie Fallout 5?

    The author.

    Any additional comments?

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you are technically minded or love to know how and why things work, you will like this book. The martian in this book is definitely the McGuyver of all time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Martian?

There are highs and lows and you are really pulling for the main character as all the odds are constantly against him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I cried... I kissed one credit goodbye. No just kidding. It was a great book.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

If you could sum up Words of Radiance in three words, what would they be?

Sanderson has started a classic epic story that can compare to Star Wars and others. Great characters. Great story. For being so long, the book passes quickly. You will not be able to stop listening to the last 4 hours.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kaladin. He hits highs and lows and gets broken along the way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Even though it was so long, it passed quickly. I wish it could have been 1000 hours long.

    Any additional comments?

All of Sandersons books are incredible but I think this series might be the best. He's definitely the most talented sci-fi fantasy writer that I have ever listened to. PLEASE FINISH WRITING THE NEXT BOOK IN THIS SERIES! QUICKLY!

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

What made the experience of listening to The Way of Kings the most enjoyable?

The depth of the story and characters. You feel immersed into the story and find yourself pulling for the characters. Brandon Sanderson has to be the best sci-fi author in my opinion. All of his books are incredible and this one is no exception.

What other book might you compare The Way of Kings to and why?

I don't know if I could compare it to other books. It has mystical magical knights similar to star wars. But overall, the story is very unique. I could see this story unfolding to more and more books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The book is very long which is great. If I could listen to it in one sitting, I would.

    Any additional comments?

Sanderson actually has provided a terrific story and a complete story all in one book. It is long so you really get your moneys worth. And the store has a good beginning, middle and end. Sanderson is unlike so many other authors that are trying to stretch a short story out to sell 5-10 separate books (ie Zombie Fallout). I can't wait to download the next book in this series (which is equally long as well)! Well done!!!!!!!!

I suppose. Already so far invested. Have to see how the story turns out.

Do you think Zombie Fallout 7: For The Fallen needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes as usual. Story left you hanging as to all his books. Get the damn story finished or to a better stopping point.

Brandon Sanderson is a phenomenal writer. What drew me towards this book being so impressed with his other works. Very creative. Knows how to tell a story and capture the characters. I can't think of one flaw with this book. Just never wanted it to end.

would recommend to some. series is good and has new take on zombies and vampires and such.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

there should be a rule that the timeline in book must at least be longer than the actual length of the audible narrative. The story is good but it drags on so long. This author could spend chapters lamenting on how a character feels with zombie goo on his clothes. GET ON WITH THE STORY. Seems like the author is trying to drag out a normal one-three book story into 100 books.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    maybe

    Any additional comments?

I kind of want to listen to book #7 but I figure after 10 hours of audible listening, the main character will not reach the end of their driveway from the house.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

great books but I am getting tired of listening for such a long time about mundane things in the plot. Author gos on for an entire chapter to describe how his dog likes to lock Mike's keys in the car. These first 3 books could be covered by a 30 minute TV show in terms of plot duration. But the books are interesting and the main character Mike Talbot is well developed and pretty funny.

    Any additional comments?

wish each book covered more plot 'distance'. for 10 hrs of audio, there should be more plot sequences that happen.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Time was well spent listenting to this book. I always enjoy Star Wars stories.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Could have used a little more action. Story line was a little weak and un-interesting but I realize this is the first book in a series and the books will probably build suspense along the way. Plus, how can Luke the Jedi master stud keep getting caught in near-death situations by non-Sith foes? Luke should be cast to be a little more powerful.

Have you listened to any of Marc Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Marc Thompson read the book very well. The performance and effects of the reading are great.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    sure

Before he was considered a CIA superagent, before he was thought of as a terrorists worst nightmare, and before he was both loathed and admired by the politicians on Capitol Hill, Mitch Rapp was a gifted college athlete without a care in the world . . . and then tragedy struck.

Watch out Scott Harvath, Jack Ryan, etc. Mitch Rapp is the new super hero. Flynn does great job on this book. This is the first audio book that I had to listen to end-to-end where most I just listen to in my commute to work. If you love spy thrillers where the good guy kills a lot of terrorists, this book is for you.
