"Food for thought"
I heard this book, repeating some sections many times. I have followed Robert Reich even before he
became Secretary of the Dept. of Labor. I have always enjoyed his erudite exposition of american economy
and the choices we have to make to be part of such an economy. Therefore my review may be biased.
The book is certainly a basket of fodder for mind to ruminate.
"Good book to understand experiences of a physician"
I am listening to the second volume of the book and thus far I have to say that I am quite satisfied. You learn a lot, how practice of medicine/psychiatry affects physicians, how society expects health care system to deliver for very complex problems for a very low price, how personal relationships define physician's perspective on patients, life in general and society.Being a physician can be very exhausting. Keeping your sanity and looking at people as people and not as some machine is important.
The book captured very well the day to day life at a psych ward.
"A good introduction to Market behaviour"
I listened to the book twice, only to digest the material once again.
It was very captivating to see how complex things are and how people
try to explain in very simplistic terms. I wish I had listened to
this book even earlier as it is a necessary book (in my opinion) to
one's own understanding of investing and its rewards.
"Very illuminating"
A must read for anyone who is interested in leading a quality life. The author an expert in the
science of sleep elaborates in very simple language the profound role sleep plays in our life.
It helps us appreciate how by adhering to some simple rules we can turn around our lives for
better.
"A Transport into the past."
I heard the book in 20-25 minute chunks over a period of 2-3 weeks. I liked the book and probably
might hear it again when I have some time. The author paints a vivid picture of the circumstances
in which he grew up one I should admit is a difficult one. Reminded me many times of my childhood.
