"Coming home from work to find my boyfriend banging our hairy, married landlord—in our bed—was bad enough. Discovering Jamie had also cleaned out my bank accounts made it officially the worst day of my life. I think I can be forgiven for wanting revenge, even if a few little laws (and possibly Jamie's nose) got bent in the process."

I consider it a repeat. One I can listen to over and over.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Men of Smithfield: Mark and Tony?

The church scene for one, but also towards the end when Mark was following his ex.

What does Shannon Gunn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Love narrators that can bring the characters to life. Very well done, Mr. Gunn

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Since I listen to audio while commuting, no. This one took a couple of days.

    Any additional comments?

This one is my favorite of the series. Had some serious LOL moments.

Holden Worthington's globetrotting days are over. Once the host of a popular adventure show, he hasn't ventured past his own front door in more than a year. Then the arrival of a sexy new gardener sparks something Holden hasn't felt in a very long time - an interest in the world outside his window. Holden tries to resist the attraction. After a grisly discovery on the grounds of the estate, the town of Smithfield turns a suspicious eye on the reclusive Holden - and the two men must trust in each other to bring the truth out in the open.

What made the experience of listening to Caught Running the most enjoyable?

Read the story and enjoyed it. Can't say much about the audio. Was hoping for a better interpretation.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Caught Running?

When Jake took a chance to find out if Branden was gay.

What three words best describe Jeff Gelder’s voice?

    Boring, drone, monotone

If you could take any character from Caught Running out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Branden, Jake sounds too grumpy for me.

Would you consider the audio edition of Timing (Gay Romance) to be better than the print version?

Narration was baaaad, Felt rush and fake. Print version was better.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Sean Crisden?

    NO!

    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the reading of this story more than the audio. One thing I noticed is the narrator was rushing through the story, and really had problems with voice characterization. No real distinction between voices.Emotion was almost nil.

His romantic weekend in ruins, shy 20-something artist Perry Foster learns that things can always get worse when he returns home from San Francisco to find a dead body in his bathtub. A dead body in a very ugly sportscoat - and matching socks. The dead man is a stranger to Perry, but that's not much of a comfort; how did a strange dead man get in a locked flat at the isolated Alton Estate in the wilds of the 'Northeast Kingdom' of Vermont? Perry turns to help from 'tall, dark and hostile' former navy SEAL Nick Reno.

What made the experience of listening to The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks the most enjoyable?

I've read the book, and just could not get into it. With the audio, Perry & Nick just came to life!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks?

Perry discovering the body in the bath tub to start with, but I don't want to give away any thing for the next reader or listener.

What about Max Miller’s performance did you like?

To begin with, Max did a great job with Perry & Nick's voices. Could actually visualize them in my mind. Also did a great job with the secondary voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Did kind of tense up on the more suspenseful parts and had a couple of aaaaah moments.

    Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend, especially if you had a little trouble with the book. If you loved the book, then this will be a really special treat!

Someone's out to get Los Angeles bookseller Adrien English. His best friend has been viciously murdered, now he's getting weird phone calls and sinister gifts from a mysterious "admirer." The cops think he's trying to divert suspicion from himself - with the exception of sexy and homophobic homicide detective Jake Riordan. Is Riordan really such a great detective - or does he have a few secrets of his own? Is his offer to help Adrien on the level or is he out to nail his favorite suspect - to the wall?

Would you listen to Fatal Shadows again? Why?

Yep! The story was quite compelling and the narrator did an excellent job.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Oh yeah. It was a slow build on mystery, yet things kept happening in story to keep the interest going. This audio actually sets a pace that slows you down to get the full impact of the storyline..No rushing through like you do a book, especially when it starts to get suspenseful. Things you might miss while reading are picked up while listening to an audio version.

What does Chris Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good voice characterizations. Not a drone!Actually brought the characters and story to life.

    Any additional comments?

Would love to hear the rest of the series done by Chris Patton.

    Hagen Verret

I almost didn't buy this because of the bad reviews. The narration was better than I was led to believe. I've heard worse!
At least the character's voices weren't mindless drones.
