Rising From the Plains takes McPhee to the high country of Utah along the Continental Divide. His guide is David Love, "the grand old man of Rocky Mountain geology". Helping McPhee see the physical changes that have shaped this region over millions of years, Love also traces his own family's history in this oil-rich, windswept land.

My husband was born in Wyoming so the personal interest story was very interesting to me. The geological part was a bit dry but great information. I wish it had more of the personal interest story part.

What would you do if you were sitting quietly in your living room when a mysterious couple suddenly appeared from out of nowhere, and then told you they were "ascended masters" who had come to reveal some shocking secrects of existence and teach you the miraculous power of advanced forgiveness? Would you call the cops? Call a psychiatrist? Call out for pizza?

I thought there was supposed to be 17 hours of dialogue with Persa & Arden? I had to come back to see if it was abridged. Otherwise it it a great listen with many insights that I have heard of explained in a different way.
