A story in 6 parts. Strange, facinating and troubling. Where Neil Gaiman often has the fantastical within the "normal" i.e. Neverwhere and Coraline, this is an alternate history of what could have been. England and the rest of the world under the sway of the Roman Catholic Church; Spain controls the New World. The 20th Century with steam power only and an ongoing feudal system. A somewhat disconcerting premise. It is a book that I will continue to think about and will listen to again.

Who would have thought that Shakespeare's famous tragedy could be rewritten to be hilarious? This is "Laugh out loud" funny. King Lear from the viewpoint of his fool Pocket.

I enjoy Christopher Moore's work having read/listened to Lamb and It's a Dirty Job and am reading Sacre Blue right now. I think Fool is the best. Moore loves his all his heros and does an amazing amount of research into whatever topic he is writing about.

You HAVE to have a broad sense of humour and not take offence as much of his story lines involve sex, swearing and body parts. There is a warning at the beginning of the book that some may be offended. I strongly recommended this book to a family member who also enjoys Moore's work and who I know won't be offended.

Of all the Audible books I've listened to, 200+, this is the funniest. Enjoy!

This was a fun book. The chapters are separate short stories and one doesn't necessarily flow into another however, they do follow in a chronological order as Anita learns to use her powers and improve her skills.

The characters are still funny, especially Gramma. The series is getting a little repetitive (how many times will Stephanie forget and leave her gun in the cookie jar!) Rex must be a very old hamster by now, and her Mother must be an alcoholic as she drinks everytime Stephanie gets into trouble. Which seems to be all the time.

Still - it is a great series for fun, relaxing reading/listening. I took this to the beach for a winter break. It was perfect. Laughter is good for the soul and reducing stress. Looking forward to more Stephanie Plum!

This series of books is great for relaxed reading. Somewhat like the Elizabeth Peters series with Peabody. They are interesting from a historical perspective, i.e. what one does or doesn't do in society at the time; the "shame" of Mrs. Simpson etc. and written in a light, great for vacation, style.

I've given this book 5 starts because it truly is wonderful. The story is one to keep you intriged. The narrator does a great job of the different voices, however I have to say I found his throat-clearing, coughs, errors and paper shuffles a little irritating. If you love mystery and intrige with the background of a costume drama, you have to read this book.
