A Massachusetts state investigator is called home from Knoxville, Tennessee, where he is completing a course at the National Forensic Academy. His boss is planning to run for governor, and as a showcase she's planning to use a new crime initiative called At Risk; its motto: "Any crime, any time." In particular, she's been looking for a way to employ cutting-edge DNA technology, and she thinks she's found the perfect subject in an unsolved 20-year-old murder-in Tennessee.

I thought I must have only downloaded only part of this book. It goes into detail about insignificant parts of the book and then rushes to conclude with an ending that is very predictable. I loved her first books and wish I hadn't bothered with this one. I will read reviews before I download from now on.

In the middle of a rainy Swedish summer, a little girl is abducted from a crowded train. Her distraught mother was left behind at the previous station in what seemed to be a coincidence. The train crew was alerted and kept a watchful eye on the sleeping child. But when the train pulled into Stockholm Central Station, the little girl had vanished. Inspector Alex Recht, assisted by the investigative analyst Fredrika Bergman, are assigned to what at first appears to be a classic custody fight. But then the child is found dead....

    Any additional comments?

I almost did not get this book because of the narration reviews. I am so glad I listened to the sample first before I took their word. I loved the different voices the narrator used. I have Swedish relatives and have been to Sweden, so I am not totally off base. The story was a good one and I am listening to the next two books. I liked this one and chose it not based on the reviews.

I love mysteries in a different country. This was Ireland and you have the mystery and a new culture all thrown in together. I love the accents and I learn a little something that I did not already know about the country.

I loved this book. I enjoyed the author's humorous dialogue and I enjoyed the way Burt Reynolds read this book. I could picture him in every scene, just like it was a movie.
