This is the second book in the Secret Brides series and very enjoyable. If you like historical romance you will like this book. Annie, the heroine was very funny and had a lot of spunk, I like spunky strong females not whiny whimpering ones. Jordan, the hero was sexy and witty. The banter between the two was great. It had a couple of hot and steamy sex scenes to boot. (a little more more sex would have been perfect) But there was enough so that the book is not rated G. Gotta have some sex in my books or its like reading/listening to a Disney movie.
The narrator did a great job. Credit worthy for sure, as was the first book. I am off to read/listen to the 3rd book, which according to some of the reviews was the best of the 3. I am excited to get started.
What a disappointment, I was looking forward to this book. I was boring, the hero and heroine were boring, their personalities were boring and dull. I couldn't even finish it it was that boring.
I didn't care for the narrator very much either.
I really enjoyed this book. Great hero and heroine, story line and plot. Great chemistry and some good sex scenes. The story line itself was a bit different in a very good way!. There was plenty of dialogue too.
The narrator did a really good job as well.
I have really enjoyed all three of the writing girls books so far. The story, plot and characters are all very good. There is great chemistry between the hero and heroine. There is plenty of dialogue, sexual tension and one well written sex scene. I do believe this was my favorite of the 3 I have read/listened to so far.
I am hopeful that the 4th writing girl book will be available on audible soon.
The narrator did an excellent job. The men sounded like men and she gave all the characters their own voices. Very well done Carolyn Morris!
This was another enjoyable listen in the Writing Girls series. The hero and heroine both strong characters and very likable. Some good dialogue and plenty of sexual tension with a mild nicely written sex scene.
The narrator did a great job. The male voices sounded male, and she read with some emotion.
I really enjoyed this first installment of the Writing Girls Series. The characters were strong and very likable. There was plenty dialogue. Sexual tension and a well written sex scene, (not graphic, just nicely written)
I will definitely read the next book in this series.
The narrator did a very good job as well. I like that she did change her voice to sound like a man for the male dialogue and read with emotion.
This story was not so good. I couldn't even finish this book. I wish I would have listened to the reviews and just skipped this one, it has turned me off to the rest of the series.
The narrator was fine.
If you listened to the rest of this series you will love this book just as much as the others. I loved Malkom and Carrow. I can't wait for the next book (book 9) to come out on audible. I listened to them all except the 2 that weren't available until now, Now i am only waiting on Regin the Radiant's book. Love the Lore and all the characters created in this fantastic series.
Robert Petkoff is the absolute best male narrator ever! If he would narrate every book that a male narrator would narrate I would be soo happy. LOL
This book was boring and there was no dialogue. I cant stand a book where there is no dialogue unless its a fantastic story and this was not a fantastic story.
Narration wasn't the best either. Need to listen on 1.25 speed for sure.
This was a cute story. It is definitely a historical romance version of the Bachelor/Bachelorette.
Like if the Bachelorette had 25 guys to choose from and she ended up picking Chris Harrison. LOL
There was some good dialogue, smart heroine, and sexual tension with a couple sex scenes thrown in.
The narrator did a decent job. I would listen to her again. (There are some narrators I refuse to listen to)
This story was way to long at 12 hours and 39 minutes. I could have been shortened by 2-4 hours. It wasn't a bad story it was just full of a lot of filler nonsense.
The dialogue was good and there was plenty of dialogue if you like a lot in your books like I do. There was no sex, a little sexual tension but not much.
Not sure I am an Amanda Quick fan as I have only read 2 of her books. This one which was just okay and The River Knows which I really enjoyed. I did listen to both on audible and the narrator for this book was a bit annoying and the narrator for The River Knows was fantastic. So maybe that is why I feel the way I do.
The narrator was a bit annoying for my taste. Also the hero's voice sounded to much like the reading voice. The heroine's voice was fine. I would prefer to listen to a different narrator like Katherine Kellegren.
