Oh my, I would love to know the word count on Deceive and Deceived. I do believe those words would total over 200 if not more. And I don't believe I am exaggerating. Also, I like a whole lot more dialog, this book had very little dialog in my opinion. The repetitive description of the feelings between the two main characters was just too much. The same thing over and over. I feel like the author couldn't think of anything to write so she would just repeat their feelings and thoughts. I did finish the book, even though I did predict the ending long before the ending. I am not saying the book was bad just annoying with very little dialog. It could have been much better, the plot and story line had so much potential. The narrator I thought did an excellent job and I think that's what kept me listening to the end.
Loved this book. What a great story. Wonderful characters, wonderful story line, hot and steamy sex. Not only were the main characters, Emma and Lachlain great, all the secondary characters were too. I love all the different types of "beings", Lykae, Valkyrie, Vampires and so much more. I am looking forward to the next book. I do wish there had been more dialogue in the book but the story was so good and it wasn't full of only thoughts and feelings repeated over and over as some authors write when there is not much dialogue. So, A+ for a story well written.
I have almost started this series so many times and didn't because my preference of narrator is female, but I have to say Robert Petkoff did a fantastic job, and I don't think this book would have been as good narrated by a female, unless is it was Tavia Gilbert, she can narrate anything and its wonderful in my opinion. (although I do think Jim Frangione did a great job on the wonderful Black Dagger Brotherhood series, which is also the only other male narrator I have listened too)
Credit worthy? 100% YES!!
I totally recommend to book to any PRN reader/listener
I thought this book was stupid. The story was dumb the character development was dumb. I didn't like it at all. Not credit, time or dollar worthy.
The narrator was okay. I know this book got a lot of good ratings but I just didn't like it and I couldn't even finish it.
A decent read. I liked the story and the characters. Lots of hot and steamy sex. Not the best book I have ever read. But not the worst book I have ever read either.
The narrator did a good job.
This book was too boring and stupid for me. I couldn't even finish it. Sorry. Don't waste your credit or dollars. Find something better there is plenty out there credit or dollar worthy.
Sorry Hannah Howell.
The narration was fine.
What a great book. The characters, the story, the plot, the surprises. Fast paced, no boring middle of the book fillers. The hero and heroine both great strong characters. Just loved the Heroine she was strong and witty and so honest. Lots of dialogue throughout the book is always a bonus. The sex was mild but it was there. I listened/read this in one day it was that good.
The narrator did a fantastic job!
Credit worthy? 100% YES
This was a fun read. I really liked Charlie/Charles, she/he was quite funny and witty. She was a strong heroine not whiny and wimpy. She got herself into lots of antics and mishaps for sure. The hero was just okay, not much depth or intrigue with him. The dialogue was good. There was a decent sex scene. Even the sexual tension was mild. I do think the attraction between Radcliffe and Charlie could have been better. Although, through most of the book Charlie was playing Charles so it did make it difficult, although Radcliffe did find himself attracted to a boy. LOL
The narrator did a pretty good job and I would listen to her again.
Credit Worthy? Sure.
This is a great series! Loved it. Strong Heroine and Hero. Great story and plot, lots of witty dialogue, hot and steamy sex. All the ingredients for a great book. A must read or listen series. I read along on my kindle.
Read/Listen to them all:
A Rogue by any Other Name- The Rules of Scoundrels Book 1
One Good Earl Deserves Another- The Rules of Scoundrels Book 2
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished- The Rules of Scoundrels Book 3
I am so looking forward to Book 4!
The narration is decent enough.
Credit Worthy? Yes all of them are!
This was a good read/listen. It was fun. I do wish there had been more dialogue in the book. There was not enough of that. The hero and heroine were both strong characters. The heroine was not whiny or wimpy, she was very likable. Loved the maid Elise, she was funny. There was no hot and steamy sex to speak of until the very end and it was not extreme but that was okay.
The narrator did a decent job, however, she could have made the men's voices sound a little more like men. If she does that in the future she will be a great narrator. Her reading voice was excellent.
What a fantastic book. This book was so enjoyable. I love the hero and heroine. This book was funny with witty dialogue throughout, a great story and some hot and steamy sex. I totally recommend this book to any Historical Romance reader. It's really too bad that third and final book in the series in not available on audible. And if it ever does become available (my fingers are crossed) it will be narrated by Tavia Gilbert! She did an absolute splendid job as usual. She made this book even better.
Books in this series are
The Rake (Lessons in Love) Book 1
London's Perfect Scoundrel (Lessons in Love) Book 2
England's Perfect Hero (Lessons in Love) Book 3 (NOT ON AUDIBLE) sad about that....
Why does audible put only a partial series on audible??? its so annoying..
AUDIBLE PUT THE LAST BOOK IN THIS SERIES ON AUDIBLE PLEASE!!!
What a great book. Fantastic characters, dialogue, and story. I listened/read this book in one sitting. I enjoyed every single second of it. The narration made a great story even better. Strong funny, witty characters, wonderful dialogue, hot and steamy sex. I really like this author she is a wonderful writer. If you are a Historical Romance fan you will love this book!
I absolutely love Tavia Gilbert she is my all time favorite narrator. 10 stars for the narration.
