A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

Chris - Audible says: "Believe the hype"
    "Incredibly entertaining."
    Overall

Perfect. Fun. Wonderful listening. Having Rob Lowe narrate it himself makes it even more incredible. I hated to have it end. He did a superb job writing the stories he tells.

It's a sad and eerie harbinger of our times that the Oprah-watching, crystal-rubbing, Whole Foods-shopping moms and their whipped attorney husbands have taken the ability to reason away from the poor schlub who makes the Bloody Marys. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist, we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Adam Carolla has had enough of this insanity and he's here to help us get our collective balls back.

    Brett says: "Hilarious Book"
"Surely funny if you can cope with the language."

You probably will have to like Adam Carolla to enjoy him ranting. It is good for a laugh. Actually many laughs. People probably do talk like this, but I find it difficult to deal with. Surprisingly, I still enjoy listening to Adam Carolla because heis very funny.

An innocent man is about to be executed. Only a guilty man can save him. Travis Boyette is such a man. In 1998, in the small East Texas city of Sloan, he abducted, raped, and strangled a popular high-school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched in amazement as police and prosecutors arrested and convicted Donté Drumm, a local football star, and marched him off to death row.

Suzn F says: "I confess, I loved it!"
    "Overly preachy."

The narrator did a great job. The story was decent and emotionally driven. It was seriously drenched with left leaning opinion. A little opinion or comment might belong, but this was excessive. Not what I was expecting, though I did manage to get through the whole thing...just because.

Now here at last, is McCourt's long-awaited audiobook about how his thirty-year teaching career shaped his second act as a writer. Teacher Man is also an urgent tribute to teachers everywhere. In bold and spirited prose featuring his irreverent wit and heartbreaking honesty, McCourt records the trials, triumphs, and surprises he faces in public high schools around New York City.

I have enjoyed each of the Frank McCourt books. They are extra special because he is telling his own story and you can feel a connection with him. Well worth the time and cost for the entertainment.

  • iWoz: How I Invented the Personal Computer and Had Fun Along the Way

Before cell phones that fit in the palm of your hand and slim laptops that fit snugly into briefcases, computers were like strange, alien vending machines. They had cryptic switches, punch cards, and pages of encoded output. But in 1975, a young engineering wizard named Steve Wozniak had an idea: What if you combined computer circuitry with a regular typewriter keyboard and a video screen?

Anthony says: "Best of the Best"
"Interesting inside story of early computing."

You might need to be a fellow geek to enjoy Wozniak's story, but it was enlightening to have an insider's view of early computing. The narrater did seem to become Woz! Enjoyable.
