"I love Mitford and Fr. Tim"
This is book two in the Mitford series and I just can't get enough. If this were a real town I would definitely want to live there.
"Fascinating insight"
The narrator sounded a lot like GWB. It was the way President Bush structured the story. What was going on that the public saw and what was going on behind the scenes and his personal recollections of those moments.
The retelling of that moment in that elementary school when he was given the news about the Towers being hit. Pres Bush caught a lot of crap about that, liberal media saying he just sat there not reacting but when I see that news footage what I saw was a man deeply concerned but also not wanting to frighten a room full of young children. Think about the information he had to process, who among us could wrap our minds around what was happening that morning and the President had an audience of children. I applaud how he handled that moment. Actually I applaud how President Bush handled himself throughout those next few weeks, he shared our outrage and DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Yes but of course that wasn't possible
I am so glad President Bush wrote this book, it shed light on issues for me that I found fascinating.
"I love Father Tim and Cynthia"
Absolutely It's a good story with interesting characters BUT if you are expecting all the Mitford gang you will be disappointed. They are in Ireland without Dooley, Harley, Puny, the twins, and even Barnabas.
Once you get past that the cast of characters is different you can settle in and get to know their new friends.
"Exciting."
Written intelligently. Not a predictable story
Kind of reads like a Grisham
We listened to it on a long road trip. Helped the time pass quickly
We'll probably listen to it again in a couple years.
"It's a very sweet story"
I listen to it every year during December.
When the whole town comes together to cover up and protect a little child
All of them are charming characters. I love when the author is also the narrator.
Yes.
This is a feel good book.
"Engaging story"
First of all I love it when the author is also the narrator so kudos to Rob Lowe for putting his voice to his words. Secondly, it was hard to turn it off. His stories pull you in and you want more. I loved that he kept it dignified throughout while still telling such personal details. This will be one of those books I listen to once a year. Loved it.
"Home run again!!"
I've listened to every book in series and I highly recommend entire series.
"Love Mitford and Fr Tim!!"
Listen to the whole series. You will be transported to a wonderful place!
"One of the best of the series"
This is one of my fav in the series but with this Mitford series it's very important to read/listen to each book in the series in their proper order to really understand all the beautiful characters. Start with At Home in Mitford and go all the way through Light From Heaven!
"Their wedding story"
This book is brief but offers add'l info you didn't get with Light in the Window and High Green Hills. Very sweet story.
"Wonderful as always"
Can't get enough of Fr Tim and Mitford. I listen to and from work each day and get to take a mini vacation to a wonderful place with wonderful characters!
