The reader was so annoying that I couldn't get past the first hour. Her older voice was too sarcastic and inappropriate for the young people's story. The story itself didn't inspire me to read it on my own. Kingsolver has disappointed me.
I didn't think of this as a favorite but after time has pased, I think of it fairy often. It's not for everyone but if you can accept that fact that the character has terminal cancer, as she has, you can appreciate her ability to live a somewhat normal life.
I haven't listened to any others.
Subjects were spoken about in an everyday kind of conversation, no over dramatizing, which people with illness's are able to do.
LIFE GOES ON
I loved the fact that this young girl found some romance in her short life and that her friend was sensitve to her needs without pitiying her..
a good story, less graphic sex
i son't know but it won't be by this author
she didn't distract, there was no story for her to give
this is trash, my time is more valuable
I though it was a poor effort to pick up on A DOGS PURPOSE
the story itself is monotonous
voice is old (the dog is young)
something more believable
this is probably a nice book for people who like thais sort of thing but its not for me
too many facts with little opportunity to "get to know the characters"
I was surprised that the men kept in touch for the rest of their lives
Ye sit would make a better ,movie than a book. It should feature typical rough and rugged types of people, not hollywood pretty faces.
the reader made the book, also, the writer was able to portray the maturing of Anna
the passion of the love life, and the insite into the world of the super rich
the part where she had to get the and deliver the money to Jack, followed by her recovery and Christian's concern
it made me want a love affair
this book is not for everyone, but I could imagine a couple reading it together
Yes. I would listen again because there was so much emotion to relive and facts of history that were missed the first time.
One moment of suspense was when the girl was, alone and hiding from the intruder.
No, I have not listened to any other but he was excellent.
It gives insight to how long the war went on before America even became involved and how many people suffered.
i would depend on the friend and what they like to read.
I don't know
their performance was very good.
No. the story ended, period.
I appreciated the insight into North Korea. The main character had such integrity for someone who came from such dire conditions. I was happy, happy, happy after reading the happy ending.
Cutting for Stone is also about a boy from a restrictive culture who had integrity and the drive to succeed. I would also compare Goldfiinch, in that that boy had a fairly normal start in life but was a liar and a thief from the time he was young, even before his mother died.
No I have not listened to any others.
The main character and Moon Sun.
I would love to read a sequel.
Charming, sweetly depressing
he gave warmth to the main character.
I would if I could.
Its a shame so few people are aware of the plight of so many beautiful animals.
