When Chaz Perron's wife discovers that he is running a scam (posing as a marine biologist to doctor water samples so that an agribusiness tycoon can continue illegally dumping fertilizer into the Everglades), he pushes her overboard from a cruise liner. Unlucky for Chaz, Joey survives clutching a bale of Jamaican pot. Rescued from the Atlantic by a former police officer, Mick Stranahan, she decides not to report him but instead haunt and taunt him, with Mick's help, by playing dead.

We know 'who done it' from the start after the wife is thrown from the deck of a cruise ship. We could say, 'And this is where the fun begins,' but, truth is, in typical Hiaasen style we've had a great deal of fun already. From the opening paragraph to page 355 of 'Skinny Dip' laughter abounds. Someone has said 'Carl Hiaasen is so good he ought to be illegal.' Right on! The audible voice is impeccable that he even brings the female voices to life. This is a 'can't miss' book if there ever was one.And the audible effort is first-rate.

At an international medical conference in Prague, Dr. Fiona Devin, an American scientist attached to the Department of Defense, is contacted by one of her Russian colleagues. Dr. Valentin Petrenko, a specialist in rare diseases, is concerned about a small cluster of deaths in Moscow but even more concerned by the Russian government's refusal to publicly release any information or data on the outbreak. When he meets with Devin to pass on his case notes and samples, the two are attacked.

On the morning that will mark the end of the world they have known, Molly and Neil Sloan awaken to the drumbeat of rain on their roof. It has haunted their sleep, invaded their dreams, and now they rise to find a luminous silvery downpour drenching their small California mountain town. A strange scent hangs faintly in the air, and the young couple cannot shake the sense of something wrong.

    Overall

This work if it can be called that was rushed to press without a doubt and I am sure the sales in the next quarter will relect my scrutiny. The person that did the audio just reads with no feeling she should made to listen to herself for six hours!!!Or on a positive note she should listen to Michael Beck or some of the other audio greats.
The only reason I took a listen is because I have the book I probably can get my money back with the book.

The smash hit Left Behind saga, the best-selling inspirational series of all time, comes to its extraordinary conclusion in this thrilling audiobook. Glorious Appearing picks up the action following the cosmic battle of the ages, and not all the members of the Tribulation Force have survived!

    "Jesus has returned."
    Overall

As Jesus has returned there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, and as Jesus speaks the enemies of God continue to die. And as the Lord's Christ returns what else does he say but re-quote scripture. A good amount of scripture but not overdone. I give it three stars good but not great.
