Samantha Kingston has it all: the world's most crush-worthy boyfriend, three amazing best friends, and first pick of everything at Thomas Jefferson High—from the best table in the cafeteria to the choicest parking spot. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it turns out to be her last. Then she gets a second chance. Seven chances, in fact.

Bluemoon says: "Great story... but not for kids!"
    "Great Narrator!"

I love Lauren Oliver's books, the narrator is one of the best narrators I have come across!

Would you consider the audio edition of On the Island to be better than the print version?

No. The narrator talked so fast that it was making me anxious. I downloaded this on my ipod and had to slow down the audio to 1/2x. I loved the story though.

What did you like best about this story?

Anna and TJ's life on the island.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Heidi Baker?

Well Sara Drew is my favorite narrator so I would take her in anything.

Jacky Faber, rich from her exploits diving for Spanish gold, has purchased the Lorelei Lee to carry passengers across the Atlantic. Believing she has been absolved of past sins against the Crown, Jacky docks in London to take on her crew, but is instead arrested and sentenced to life in the newly formed penal colony in Australia. To add insult to injury, the Lorelei Lee is confiscated to carry Jacky and more than 200 female convicts to populate New South Wales.

I love this series and I want to keep on reading but I feel like these books keep getting cruder and more vulgar. I'm an adult so I can take it but I would not let kids read this series.

Lena has lived her whole life near the beach, walking for miles up and down the shore and breathing the salty air, swimming in the cold water, and watching the surfers rule the waves. The problem is, she's spent her whole life just watching. As her 16th birthday approaches, Lena vows she will no longer watch from the sand: she will learn to surf. But her father, a former surfer himself, refuses to allow her to take lessons. After a near drowning in his past, he can't bear to let Lena take up the risky sport. Yet something lures Lena to the water - an ancient, powerful magic.

I can't even make myself finish this book. I am in my 30's and I love teen books but this one just makes me roll my eyes every 10 minutes. Maybe if the narrator was decent I could make it through but the narrator makes all the characters sound the same. Don't waster your money.

Incarceron, the living prison, has lost one of its inmates to the outside world: Finn’s escaped, only to find that Outside is not at all what he expected. Used to the technologically advanced, if violently harsh, conditions of the prison, Finn is now forced to obey the rules of Protocol, which require all people to live without technology. To Finn, Outside is just a prison of another kind, especially when Claudia, the daughter of the prison’s warden, declares Finn the lost heir to the throne.

"Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't."

I could not stop listening to this book! The narrator was fantastic! I can not wait until the next book comes out! It took me 3 days to listen to this book and that was me trying to pace myself!

Jacky Faber, having been called a pirate and had a price put on her head by the King of England, has no choice but to stay out of sight. Hoping for a safe hiding place, she returns to the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls in Boston, but the calm doesn't last long. On a class field trip to Boston Harbor, the girls are abducted and forced into the hold of the Bloodhound, a ship bound for the slave markets on the Barbary Coast where they will be put up on the auction block and sold into Arab harems.

This was my favorite book in the Bloody Jack series. I don't know if it was because of the book or the narrator that made it so good. That narrator made Jacky Faber come alive! Excellent!
