I have read this book in kindle form and I loved it, could not put it down! I could not even listen to the entire book this time. The reader was difficult to understand - as in I had no idea who was talking, who was thinking, etc. Sorry for the bad review but I just wanted to warn people. Do yourself a favour and buy the kindle/paperback, amazon still have it in stock I'm sure!
John Green is absolutely amazing. Wonderful, moving storytelling. Well narrated by Kate Rudd too. Just an all round great audiobook. No gripes. Besides that it made me cry. Yeah be prepared to cry. Okay? Okay.
Good start but then trailed off. Such a shame. The reader was good but she could not save the story from its disappointing conclusion.
Listen to this book! It is truly awesome and wonderful and frightening all at once. Neil Gaiman is a master and reads it well too.
Please be warned, this audiobook may be dangerous when listening in the car. I laughed so hard it brought me to tears and it could not have been safe to be laughing that way while driving home from work! I loved this book, and I really think that Tina Fey did a great job at performing it (as expected) and I am glad that I got to listen to it rather than simply reading it.
I can't portray how much i enjoyed listening to this audiobook, I came home every day and re watched 30 rock and annoyed my husband with little tidbits of information while watching. I am sure he is happy that I have finished it! But I think I will listen to it again.
Thanks Tina for sharing and writing and reading. Oh, and I did not even notice her scar... but maybe I just need a better TV. I don't know.
Get this audiobook. It's great.
Bill Bryson has an ability to make you see everything from your everyday life in a new light. Everything is different, more interesting, more meaningful, and often not as innosent as you may have always believed! 'At Home' is thouroughly enjoyable and read perfectly by Mr Bryson, himself. I cannot wait for his next work of art!
'Some Kind of Fairy Tale' is such a beauiful audiobook. It is well writen, with vivid discriptions of both scenery and characters alike. John Lee's melodious voice brings added depth to the story that could probably not be achieved in print. Both the writer and he reader carry you away quickly into the tale, capturing your imagintion, and making you not want to press the pause button!
