Morgan Chane was an Earthman by parentage, but he had been born on the pirate-world Varna, whose heavy gravity had developed strength and incredibly quick reflexes in him. When he was old enough, he joined the raider-ships that looted the starworlds, and fought side by side with the dreaded Starwolves of Varna. But then there was a fight among them. Chane killed their leader, and the other Starwolves turned on him. He barely got away alive - wounded near death, his Starwolf pursuers following him across the galaxy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It is reminiscent of the old adventure books of my childhood.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Morgan Chane is the ordinary man born in extraordinary circumstance and rises to the challenge.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I found some of the characters were annoying in their performance while I had enjoyed the books.

What other book might you compare The Bones of Odin to and why?

Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler is the obvious comparison. Hero with Government help. A not so weak female companion and mythical basis for storyline.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The unveiling of the tombs was interesting.

    Any additional comments?

I would have been interested in the Author finishing his premises regarding the Gods rather than leaving them up to the reader/listener.

Five thousand years ago, the Kinley built a ship capable of traveling faster than light. It carried a group of scientists to a small, distant planet - a primitive place called Earth. Its mission was peaceful observation. But when the ship was destroyed, the Kinley crew found themselves stranded in ancient Egypt, participants in the pageant of life in the time of the Pharaohs. They buried remnants of their technology deep beneath the desert and sent a last desperate message home…. Five thousand years later, the Kinley homeworld hovers on the brink of extinction.

The story could have benefited with some more time given to the conclusion. It was as if the author lost interest towards the end. It developed well and at a steady pace but the conclusion seemed to be wrapped up in relatively few words.

While the story is still great, the performance was very dated with serious quality issues such as volume and missing segments.
