As a pastor working in a neighborhood with the highest concentration of murderous gang activity in Los Angeles, Gregory Boyle created an organization to provide jobs, job training, and encouragement so that young people could work together and learn the mutual respect that comes from collaboration.

This is such a story of compassion for a group of society that most people think have no worth. Even a bigger part of the story is the fact that most of the characters in the book have no value in themselves. The fact that the author read his own story and is such a good story teller just makes it all that more special. Would recommend this book to all.

Once presided over by a flamboyant Hollywood mogul during the Roaring ’20s, the magnificent West Coast property known as Roseland is now home to a reclusive billionaire financier and his faithful servants. And, for the moment, it’s also a port in the storm for Odd Thomas and his traveling companion, the inscrutably charming Annamaria. In the wake of Odd’s most recent clash with lethal adversaries, the opulent manor’s comforts should be welcome. But there’s far more to Roseland than meets even the extraordinary eye of Odd, who soon suspects it may be more hell than haven.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Odd is my favorite fictional character and the first book in the series has been recommended by me to many. I would recommend starting their. This was good book though.

Have you listened to any of David Aaron Baker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

To me he is odd Thomas. I love him.

A German Shepherd police dog witnesses a murder and if his owner - an Iraq war vet and former cop-turned-thief - is convicted of the crime, the dog could be put down. Few rival Andy Carpenter's affection for dogs, and he decides to represent the poor canine. As Andy struggles to convince a judge that this dog should be set free, he discovers that the dog and his owner have become involved unwittingly in a case of much greater proportions than the one they've been charged with.

Where does Dog Tags rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

When you are looking to have a laugh by a sarcastic John Grisham type then go to David Rosenfelt. His Andy Carpenter books are some of my favorites. This is one of the best. Great reading by Grover Gardner.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dog Tags?

Any dialog by Andy Carpenter can create a belly laugh.
