An in-depth look at the essential issues surrounding zombie institutions and their effect on the global economy. Zombie banking has become standard operating procedure for big debtor nations. They prop up failing institutions, print money, and avoid financial corrections. But in an attempt to prolong the inevitable, bigger problems are created. The approach used now has not, and will not, work. This timely book reveals why.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Zombie banks was a good listen. It was full of interesting and relevant information. It starts off way too slow. You get the feeling that these banks aren't good for much, but what's just as bad are the suggestions that more government regulation/ involvement is what will fix them. great information....solution/opinion...well

Would you recommend Zombie Banks to your friends? Why or why not?

    Recommended. Great info.

The tsunami of cheap credit that rolled across the planet between 2002 and 2008 was more than a simple financial phenomenon: it was temptation, offering entire societies the chance to reveal aspects of their characters they could not normally afford to indulge. The Greeks wanted to turn their country into a pinata stuffed with cash and allow as many citizens as possible to take a whack at it. The Germans wanted to be even more German; the Irish wanted to stop being Irish.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely a recommended listen. Lewis writes a narrative so well that you almost forget there are underlying lessons in the tales.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The fire fighter (I forget his name, apologies) is the all american type character than shows what is wrong with some of our labor structure and what faces anyone who has responsibilities. There couldn't have been a better chosen character.

What about Dylan Baker’s performance did you like?

Very well narrated, great voice and emphasis.
