This was one of the best tales I've ever heard. I had to go back to check that it was fiction more than once. It was totally facinating with an unuasual storyline. It's the kind of story you keep thinking about months after hearing it.

This was a particularly fun listen for me as I am familiar with Leavenworth, WA. Being set in that Christmas town setting sets the holiday tone for this fun romance. This multifaceted story juggles friends and family relationships as well as newly discovered romance. I appreciate that the language is appropriate for anyone to hear and the romantic scenes are loving, but tame enough that no one will be offended by their content Moms can listen to this story in the kitchen while cooking Christmas goodies or can listen to this in this the car between shopping malls without concern for what the little ones will hear as they overhear this story. The story encompasses all someone will want in a romantic Christmas story that brings the cozy warmth of family and friends together.

Whether you're following this series or this group of characters is new to you, you will find them pesenting a holday story well worth hearing! So many holiday stories are predictable, honey-sweet stories that don't challenge the listener. The characters in the series have become old friends over time, but whether you're new to the series or not, you won't be sorry if you choose this story for the holidays. At first, I wasn't sure that I could listen to Christina Moore as the narrator, but I've found that she's become the perfect voice for characters that I've grown to love. I am not a quilter and thought the subject matter might be boring, but I was wrong! I learned about history while treating myself to a 'clean' and 'uplifting story' that was meaty in content and very different than the usual holiday story line. It was wonderful to be able to play this book in the presence of children and friends without needing to apologize for curse words or x-rated content. If you choose this book, you'll have a rich story with historic content that you will find enriching to your modern holiday. Sometimes, we grow tired of 'so many sweets' at the holidays and we find ourselves craving some calories with nutritional content - you'll find that in this story!

This Audio book is great for adults, but adult subject matter makes this inappropriate for young children. A theme carried throughout this book is that of a man lusting after a young girl. If this book were a movie, it would be given an "R" rating.

This book has an interesting premise, but unfortunately that is where the interest ends. The narration makes it impossible to stay focused on the plot. The story's value cannot be determined because the read is boring. If you need a book to help you fall asleep, choose this one, because there's nothing here to keep you awake. WARNING: This is definitely NOT a book to listen to while driving or while operating heavy machinery . . . may cause drowsiness!

This book has got to be the bargain of the year! Robert Forster's read was exceptional. I will look for other books read by him in the future. In "The Hit Man," Lawrence Block created a character that is both believable and surprisingly likeable. The casual, everyday approach to the subject of murder will surprise and entertain the reader. My only regret with this book is that it had to end!

The story was great; the narrator was poor. If someone is going to read a book, they should learn to pronounce the names of the locations correctly. It was irritating to hear Spokane pronounced "Spo - cane" when it's actually pronounced "Spo - Can." I would also have to say that Lee Child was incorrect in his descriptions of the Portland, OR areas and in his description of the size of Spokane. So even though the story was incredibly good, it was irritating to hear locations I'm familiar with described poorly and pronounced worse. Even so, the story was worth hearing.
