In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

Everyone knows this is an amazing series; nothing more needs to be said on that. I just have to add my two cents on Roy dotrice. He's a great actor, and I'm positive hrs great on other audiobooks. The only issue is that he makes every character sound like an old man. He does maybe 5 or 6 different voices and there are hundreds of characters in this series so that really doesn't cut it. I personally think they should have cast Jim Dale.

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

Like a lot of people, I was disappointed by Ghost Story--the story was out of line for the series and I love James Marsters so I really missed his narration. Cold Days put the series back on track and Marsters in the driver's seat again. It was incredibly well written and full of surprises. Can't wait for the next book!
