"At first familiar, but then surprise!! (all good)"
it is up there with those I have chosen so far with a rating of 5 stars in my opinion.
I have listened to 50 Shades (the trilogy) and it comes off very close to this story with the multi-millionair factor, being young and inlove, possessive and controlling, sexual indecency by an older predator, emotional roller coaster, the man having siblings of varying interests and troubles and the female being the only child. The female having a father not with the Mom, but supportive..............etc. Although the characters almost share similar persuasions, the storyline veers off to a whole other plot that keeps you locked in to hear all that will develop these characters to a dimension totally dissimilar to 50 Shades. Overall, I was surprised and locked into opening door after door to hear all the juicy surprises and the ultimate sacrifice for love and well-being, but catch this in the follow-up series. You will be locked in as I was and still am for the next in the series to come, hopefully soon!.
total interest and an enjoyment of hearing the different emotions with her take on each character.
"STEAMY AT ITS BEST!"
never read the print version, but the audio was definitely a winner for me.
she did a great job of narrating, bringing a Scottish accent I can't imagine i would be able to do and this for me brought all aspects of life to the book affording explicit enjoyment in listening.
Definitely
I am dying to read Book 3 in the series. It is quite entertaining.
"GREAT BOOK, BUT BORING NARRATOR!!!"
I guess the audio would be worth it, but the Narrator was painfully boring and monotone and made me feel that this genre of book isn't her cup of English tea.
Absolutely not! maybe if it is old English romance.
I really can't think of it because I couldn't finish the book, she bored the enthusiasm out of me.
PLEASE, PLEASE change the Narrator for future Books in the Series. Narrators can make or break the popularity of books when they offer an uninspiring and lack - luster performance and the book may very well be a best seller in the making.
"WONDERFUL, ORGASMIC AND GREAT"
At the top.... 5 STARS
Presently can't think of any.
He brought a life so vivid, my own interpretation I think would pale. The accents of each character was so expertly done ( as always by RP ). He is a master at his craft and I entirely enjoyed the audio.
"Interesting all around"
The intricacy of love, possession and relationships
she brought expressions to the characters that maybe I wouldn't have read the book with, but in some instances, I found the girlfriend a handful of annoyance and her jealousy was at times overbearing, but the characters leveled out with each chapter as you got further in the audible. The experience of listening was good.
yes
"POWER, PASSION, PRIDE AND INTENSITY"
Never read the print version, but if the audio is anything to go by, the print in my opinion would pale in comparison, but I was sold hook line and sinker on the audio because Robert Petkoff did justice in bringing this book alive and carried you to places you wouldn't have imagined possible with his narrating skills. His character voices are very sexy, touching you in all the right places, spurning you when it gets contentious then delivers that balance to every character and leaves you spent wanting more. He takes you on an intense ride. Guaranteed!
Elizabeth's street smart or mountain-smarts and her determination to rival for Lothaire's love, bringing him back from his near insanity and showing him true happiness.
I have no particular because i was lost in the development of each plot.
There are several, but to mention 3: (1) I was moved when Elizabeth seemed doomed to die, (2) Lothaire's sensitivity to Elizabeth's virginity and a desire to take care of her and (3) Elizabeth being turned out of Nicks sanctuary to fend for herself when Lothaire seemed unconcerned for her well being because of unspoken shared feelings.
Robert Petkoff brought this book to life. It was like a movie without the picture and he totally rocked it. He is a GREAT NARRATOR. You get lost in his intensity and he delivered an orgasmic performance. He has become one of my favorite narrators.
"Exciting, passionate and thrilling"
EXCITINGLY GRIPPING AND WOW!!!!!
Cat and Bones' bond as a couple with all their challenges and fighting to keep a love almost lost alive through unquenchable passion and accepting his insatiable past.
Tavia Gilbert has scored 10. Her performance was just a class act of giving everyone an individual identity with the varying accents, she just nailed it!.
I was moved when it was thought that Bones died and Cat was just besotted with grief, but love and determination won over to reunite this power couple. Another, was Cat's wretched father and the lengths he would consider to terminate his own daughter.
Great story with splendid narration.
