a little heavy handed on the judeo-christian pov, but listenable. narrator is a true believer.

Easily the best of the John Rain thrillers, though they are all good ... It's wonderful to hear Eisler finally narrating his characters ... there have been some winners and losers among narrators of previous Rain books.

I've read all the top writers in the genre, and most of their series books. This book is certainly in the top 5 I've had the pleasure to read. It taps surgically into the double-take reality we're living through in the count-terror world; Eisler has done his research, and understands the dynamics behind the headlines.

An irresponsible, dangerous misrepresentation of history, religion, and politics.

Certainly as much blood has been shed in the name of Christ as in the name of Mohamed.
It's certainly not true that Muslims are converting to Christianity en masse. This is pure fiction. It is also a profound confusion to express that the Christian god is the real god, and that the world's problems would be solved if everyone just changed one set of beliefs for another.

God is a concept, a thought, a mental experience. All thoughts are just thoughts. Self-righteous clinging to thoughts -- "my thoughts are right, yours are wrong" -- is at the root of all the pain and violence in the history of the world.

When will this self-evident truth be understood? When will the fundamental hypocrisy of Theism and its supposed glory be exposed?

jolly good luck with this holy-rollin' doctrinaire tome. it's almost irresponsible, what the author dreams up and forces down the listener's throat. yikes. this kind of stuff should be kept among friends.

Berenson is a wonderful writer, and Guidall is a gifted storyteller. A great combination.

The narration is a bit odd ... the Israelis come across a bit like Transylvanians, like Count Dracula, especially Shamron and Allon.

But a great story!

As with many spy/crime/detective series, Silva improves with each effort. This is the best of the Allon series so far, although even the books before it are strong and worth the time. This book is a league apart ... even the narration is superb.
