The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

I might be the only person who did not enjoy this book. I found the author went on in detail about irrelevant things to the story. It could have been a quarter of the size it is. The important parts of the book she lightly skims the top of, where with the irrelevant parts she elaborates in detail and goes on and on and on and on. Pointless!!! I get the point she is trying to make the story but it could have been handled in a lot less time. I wouldn’t recommend reading the book goggle the story and don’t wasn’t your 30+ hours listening. The book is narrated by David Pittu who does a lovely job

Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July, 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

Very disappointed in where the story ended up going. I felt like the entire story could have been told in 3 or 4 chapters. It was very drawn out and long compared to her other books. I understand the ending and not that I’m against the end but I feel like it was a let down with the entire series. The performance of Emma Galvin , Aaron Stanford was amazing unfortunately Veronica Roth story wasn’t a good as I hoped.

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

To be honest I was truly disappointed in this book. Her first one was so rich with text so life like with details with highs and lows. Shadow of a night was long , drawn out and slow. There was minimal excitement in the book so curves but I felt like it was a different author writing! I have to give her credit its very well written and a good book to enjoy just not as good as the first one. I was disappointed but the story is still good and hope that book 3 will be the best

My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything. Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent. Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

I have completed all 3 books in the series. The author could have made one really good book instead of three O K books. This book drags on and on. The author focuses a lot on small details but forgets to touch on some key elements in the book. Its only popular because of the "kinky" sex and honestly I think only virgins and middle aged woman who are not having sex will really enjoy this book. Not to mention RHA did an awful job on the performance of the book. It was dreadfully awful to listen through. The "remastered" version was even worse. If you are interested in reading these books, read them do not listen to them it will disappoint you even more than the actual books will.

A mesmerizing, moving, and elegantly written debut novel, The Language of Flowers beautifully weaves past and present, creating a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others even as she struggles to overcome her own troubled past. The Victorian language of flowers was used to convey romantic expressions: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience, and red roses for love. But for Victoria Jones, it's been more useful in communicating grief, mistrust, and solitude.
