I've been slow to discover and listen to this author. Now, I must catch up! I loved this book because it held my interest from start to the end. I was concerned that it wasn't very long (8+ hours), but it was perfect. And, I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator.
This book is different than L. King's usual stories, I look forward to the next one about Rae. I loved this story of a woman trying to get herself back together after many tragic blows. Wonderful story that keeps you on your toes and guessing what will happen next.
I've enjoyed all of Linda Castillo's stories. Just when I think she cannot top her last book, another is released that's even better. This one is her best, held me captive from the beginning to the end. No dull parts in this book!
I purchased this book because I'd enjoyed "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry". I suffered through "Elsewhere" because it's too juvenile for me. Nice storyline. The kid reading it does a good job (if she's a kid) but without a doubt, this is not for anyone over 30. *Yawn*
All of the J.P. Beaumont stories are enjoyable, but this one didn't grab me from the start, like the others did. I didn't want to miss it in the series, so 'hung in there'. I'm glad I did.
A great story with the perfect narrator. Characters were strong and entertaining from beginning to end.
Rare is it when the story holds you (nearly breathless, at times) and the narrator is perfect for the drama. I look forward to the author's next book on 'Reeve'.
The book is different from the movie, but both great! Sometimes the oldies are the 'goodies' and better than SK's recent writings.
I guess I'm a minority to hate this book, but it was awful. I I've enjoyed many of Stephen Kings earlier works, so I recently bought 'The Shining' to read, since I'd only seen the movie. Both book and movie were great, but very different from one another. I bought 'The Shining' in preparation for King's "Sleep Doctor". "Sleep Doctor" was difficult to follow, none of the characters were likeable or scary-evil and the story rambled on until I wasn't sure if I was back at Part 1 or in Part 3. I want a refund.
Like most of Grisham books, they drag on and on. Most end without a real ending, but this one does. Why does this book get so many 5 star reviews?
