At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Where does Ready Player One rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This listen ranks in the middle when compared to listens like Choke by Chuck Pahlaniuk or The Dark Tower series as read by Frank Muller. Will Wheaton does a fine job here though and helps bring the story to life.

What other book might you compare Ready Player One to and why?

Ready Player One reminded me of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game and Lost Boys because of the intellect of the characters and the virtual reality mixed with real reality.

What does Wil Wheaton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Will Wheaton adds nerd cred to the whole thing. This book might open up geekdom to those who play on the edge of geekdom.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the nostalgia of the pizza parlor and the way Wade earned the extra quarter.

    Any additional comments?

If you are a geek or afraid you might be, you should check this out.
