Listening to this book transported me from my car to the African bush. Simon Vance was so authentic in his reading that I felt as though I were listening to the author. The interactions with the elephants were beautiful and, at times, frightening. The love that Lawrence Anthony had for these and all creatures was apparent as he often risked his life for theirs. Thula Thula is a place that I would love to visit.
Major Pettigrew was a very proper country gentleman. Appearances were important to him, but he learns that appearances can be deceiving. The characters in this book are very well developed and it a worthwhile read.
The storyline was intriguing, but lacking a bit in character development. I did have a hard time understanding the reader at times (but that could just be my poor hearing). Suspenseful at times, but a little redundant.
Awesome reader! The voice truly reflects Jack Reacher and his no nonsense approach to everything is refreshing. I love the fact that he "lives off the grid," and yet is a very caring character.
