Will Robie may have just made the first - and last - mistake of his career.... It begins with a hit gone wrong. Robie is dispatched to eliminate a target unusually close to home in Washington, D.C. But something about this mission doesn't seem right to Robie, and he does the unthinkable: He refuses to kill. Now, Robie becomes a target himself and must escape from his own people.

Fleeing the scene, Robie crosses paths with a wayward teenage girl, a 14-year-old runaway from a foster home. But she isn't an ordinary runaway....

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions. The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement.

What did you love best about First to Kill?

Peterson's first book, and it just keeps getting BETTER !!!!!
The character development is GREAT...the story is both fast-paced, believable and always a twist around the next corner.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

As I listened, the scene was playing like a movie in my mind...which is odd, as I have enjoyed greatly other authors like Lee Child,Patterson, Cussler, Baldacci...but this was so much more entertaining...not taking anything away from others...

What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?

Dick Hill is now my ALL-Time Favorite...I enjoyed him in the "Jack Reacher" series, but he takes this to an ALL-TIME high as a ":thrill ride". To me...there is none better

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Out of the 147 books I have read / listened to...the Nathan McBride series are not on the TOP !!!! I listen to all 3 in two days...where normally I like to spread the books out over a week or so...COULD NOT STOP !!!

    Any additional comments?

THESE ARE A MUST READ for anyone who enjoys Jack Reacher, Alex Cross, John Rain, or any of Baldacci's characters !!!!

Tom Clancy returns to Jack Ryan's early days, in an extraordinary new novel of global political drama. Ryan's first days on the job at the CIA put him into a high-stakes game, playing for the life of the Pope and the stability of the Western world.
