Very interesting and great storyline. The premise is ridiculous, but who cares when the story is so well done! That's why they call it fiction, right?

Not far from Washington, D.C., in a wooded area of Northern Virginia, a small house at the end of a gravel road serves a secret purpose. With its sophisticated security apparatus and hidden miniaturized cameras, it is being used by the FBI to interview one of the most important witnesses the agency has ever had, a young woman with an incredible story to tell. But a few people know about the secret meeting. And for them, a violent drama is about to begin.

David Baldacci never fails to catch your imagination. However, the narrator has a serious breathing problem. It's like istening to a telephone stalker. I was so distracted the first half of the book by his ending each phrase with a sigh for his male characters, that I almost didn't finish the story. His female impersonations can only be described as "breathy."

The narrators are awful, particularly the woman. She sounds like she is reading a bad script, not acting the part, and she sounds like she's in a tunnel. It's irritating enough that I'm not finishing the book. It didn't have a good start any way.

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life. When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted.

The story involves a huge diamond, the moonstone, originally stolen from an Indian shrine. The gem is given to an English girl on her 18th birthday but disappears that same night. What follows is a spellbinding mystery that to this day has the power to draw the listener into its world of danger, suspense, and surprise.

The narrator sounds pompous and boring; so it's been hard to get into the story. When I push to pay attention, the story is awkward and uninteresting at best. If I never hear the term "my lady" again, I'll be thrilled!

A mesmerizing, moving, and elegantly written debut novel, The Language of Flowers beautifully weaves past and present, creating a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others even as she struggles to overcome her own troubled past. The Victorian language of flowers was used to convey romantic expressions: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience, and red roses for love. But for Victoria Jones, it's been more useful in communicating grief, mistrust, and solitude.

Ayla, one of the most remarkable and beloved heroines in contemporary fiction, continues to explore the world and the people around her with curiosity, insight, and, above all, courage. As the story opens, Ayla, Jondalar, and their infant daughter, Jonayla, are living with the Zelandonii in the Ninth Cave - a shelter of stone. Ayla has been chosen as an acolyte and has embarked on the arduous task of training to become a spiritual leader.

    Overall

I really loved the original series, but this is one of the worst I have listened to. I finally gave up halfway through the first section. It's way too detailed and long. The orator makes it worse by spacing her reading out as though the characters have trouble talking. This might have been good if it had been only half as long. I'm not planning on finishing it.
