The storyline is totally overdone and in many cases illogical. I found it depressing and overblown. The assumption is that terrorists could take out the country with three nuclear blasts above the atmosphere which would create electromagnetic pulses that would stop all electric, computers, batteries, cars, etc. bringing the country to a state similar to 500 years ago. Apparently the author not only doesn't know history, nature or how well documented EMP potentials have been for the last 60 years. The ending is designed to leave you terrified that our best scientists don't know what they doing. Yeah, right! Don't waste your money.
I've seen plows that didn't drag as much as this story. I still don't know what the point is.
Unexpected plot twists and really well done. Lisa Gardner is always a great read.
She's running out of ideas and creativity for this series. Time to stop and recharge for something new.
The narrator sounds pompous and boring; so it's been hard to get into the story. When I push to pay attention, the story is awkward and uninteresting at best. If I never hear the term "my lady" again, I'll be thrilled!
The story is pretty good, but doesn't seem to tie together well with how psychologically the heroine should have acted and thought process not well-defined.
It's not quite as good as the previous two, but it is worth finishing series. These review requirements are ridiculous!
I really loved the original series, but this is one of the worst I have listened to. I finally gave up halfway through the first section. It's way too detailed and long. The orator makes it worse by spacing her reading out as though the characters have trouble talking. This might have been good if it had been only half as long. I'm not planning on finishing it.
I found this book to be very "draggy". The main character's continuous lamentations were really boring.
Very interesting and great storyline. The premise is ridiculous, but who cares when the story is so well done! That's why they call it fiction, right?
I really loved this book, as I have all the Baldacci books I've read. Definitely recommend this for a great work of fiction.
