Personal trainer Trey Ziegler was in peak physical condition. If you didn't count the kitchen knife in his well-toned chest. Lieutenant Eve Dallas soon discovers a lineup of women who'd been loved and left by the narcissistic gym rat. While Dallas sorts through the list of Ziegler's enemies, she's also dealing with her Christmas shopping list - plus the guest list for her and her billionaire husband's upcoming holiday bash.

Eve has a great murder mystery in this book and of course we know she solves the case in her inimitable style but this book really works on the characters and their growth together. Eve and Rourke have developed a deeper understanding of each other since their early days in their marriage and it shows in this story. My image of seeing Peabody in a special pink coat makes me laugh as I can just see her with the matching pink shoes.
It's a great story in the series and a great read. Sit back and enjoy the Christmas Spirit.

Six-time Emmy Award-winning funnyman Tim Conway, best known for his characters on The Carol Burnett Show, offers a straight-shooting and hilarious memoir about his life on stage and off as an actor and comedian. In television history, few entertainers have captured as many hearts and made as many people laugh as Tim Conway. There's nothing in the world that Tim Conway would rather do than entertain - and in his first-ever memoir, What's So Funny?, that's exactly what he does.

I needed to have a light read and chose this book as I have always enjoyed seeing TIm Conway on TV. I was not disappointed with one exception - Though I love hearing Dick Hill in his many roles through Audible books I was disappointed that Tim didn't tell the story himself, however, it was a wonderful life to listen to and made me smile many times with the occasional burst of laughter that made others look at me quizzically!.

Sean Duffy seems to have 9 lives - surviving a hell of beating in America in the previous book to an explosive moment in this one. How does he do it all without a scratch?
I do love listening not only to the storyline and the cultural references of the 1980's with the IRA, the drama with the English Government and the underworld of spy and intrigue but also it has a superb narration.
This was a great read and I am now waiting in expectation for the next installment...where will Sean Duffy go next?

I don't know how Nora Roberts does it, you travel the rollercoaster of sex, drugs and rock n roll and as a reader you can see each scene so clearly. There are characters that you really want to slap for their stupid and egotistical natures. And as for the main character Emma....Grab some tissues, sound the trumpets and get ready for a story that only Roberts can weave.

A stand-alone novel based on high-profile child abductions, which have been followed by millions of concerned parents on the news. Five-year-old twins are abducted from a tent in the Lake District and the hunt for a dangerous paedophile ring begins. Police procedure follows the premise that 60% of abducted children are murdered within the first four hours of being taken. The first hour is called "The golden hour" and the longer a child is missing, the less chance there is of them being recovered unharmed.

Mickey Haller gets the text, "Call me ASAP - 187," and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game. When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one. He soon finds out that she was back in LA and back in the life. Far from saving her, Mickey may have been the one who put her in danger.

What made the experience of listening to The Gods of Guilt the most enjoyable?

It was a great story line and the twists and turns. Connelly explains the legality of law proceedings with expert skill and is able to blend them into the story brilliantly. Thoroughly enjoyable!

What about Peter Giles’s performance did you like?

    Simply splendid, such easy listening.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Everyone deserves Justice!

    Any additional comments?

I still love the short connections made with Harry Bosch.

Would you try another book from Lotte Hammer and Soren Hammer and/or Ray Chase?

No, I wouldn't jump at reading another book by this author, I found the development of characters very flat and one dimensional, at times confusing. I am not sure if my confusion stemmed from the narrators mix of characters voice changes.."the countess" in particular. I am sorry to say that I didn't persevere to find out who carried out the macabre murders.. Best of luck to those who do persevere.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Confusion and disappointment, something lacking.

If you could sum up The Burning in three words, what would they be?

The story is mainly told by Maeve Kerrigan who is a strong character who though has great ambitions in the police force is a character who seems normal without major flaws which can often plague the main woman in a book.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This was a book I had listened to after 3 very ordinary stories so this for me was a good, intriguing story line with interesting characters some of whom I'd like to explore further in the next stories written by the author.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ahh just love the lilt of the Irish.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not necessarily but I did enjoy listening to each chapter.
