"As Usual..great suspense..."
As always, you are left wondering whats going to happen, and it doesnt get too dull. Only problem, is towards the end (without giving any of the plot away)a lady breaks a glass, and I just felt that was so weak of the author. Its like, sometimes an author needs for something to happen, so the character does something that just doesnt fit! When she broke the window pane, I was like, now wait a minute! What?!?! Who would do that?! That makes no sense whatsoever! That just wouldnt happen! So yea...but other than that, it was an ok book. I give it a 7 out of 10.
"It was pretty good"
It felt like it was a bit long....
DEWY is my favorite character, but it took too long for him to get into action and solve this puzzle.
So far Dewey isn't a Mitch Rapp, but I may have to check out a few more books in this series to see how they build this hero up.
"Pretty good..."
There was a lot of action. Alot of things were too unrealistic. Everybody was corrupt. Too many people. Everyone Scott turned to was corrupt, and happened to be linked with each other. I didn't like that. How is it that the ONE person Scott turned to when he found out about Andre just so happened to be linked in to the Senator who was trying to kill Andre?!
Also it got a little confusing when he went to Switzerland and got mixed up with Claudia.
I may recommend it, because it's a great series and it gets better with future books.
The FBI guy who kept chewing Scott out was a pretty good performance. He really sounded like he hated Scott.
It was crazy how so many people were corrupt.
"Sooo good!"
I don't typically listen to audio books more than once, but this one might be worth it.
The most memorable moments was the stake out, and Victors' actions.
George Guidall is a superb narrator!
This was a book you did not want to put down.
This book first had me very confused....I was like, wait....there are characters in here who has already died. Then I realized this book is a was a prequel! I remember the book before this one was going into Mitch Rapp's past. And it threw me off when this book started off in the past. I thought I was getting the books out of order or something. lolBut, overall a great listen!
"Pretty good"
Yes. It keeps you interested.
It had its moments where you get a bit nervous.
He was able to make the voices sound like separate people for the most part. Kings voice was most annoying but it really fit the character.
The parts where the terrorist were just cold blooded killing hostages...
The ending seemed a bit lack luster....but it was ok.
"Talk about anticlimactic!"
Ok I'm sorry, but I just have to say it.
It's so sad when you can tell the narrator doesn't have the ability to narrate in the context of the tone the words were meant to convey! That's one thing I use to believe would be automatic with audio books. I thought the narrator would sit down with the author or a producer, to be sure they had the right tone, of each line the way the author intended when it was written! APPARENTLY NOT!
e.g. There's a part where Joanna is saying, "Dale isn't scared of me....*looks over at Dale* Are you gorgeous?"
Now anyone with a halfway decent command of the English language knows exactly what tone that line should sound like. That line was said twice in the book.
BUT said WRONG!
This narrator said: Dale isn't scared of me. (then as if in a total change of subject)
"Are YOU Gorgeous!!!"
(imgaine a tone of saying, "AREN'T YOU JUST GORGEOUS!!!")- like what you'd say when you see a cute puppy or kitten or exotic car.
She did this twice. I was like really?? Seriously????
So that's why I rated the 'performance' with 1 star.
The 'story' also receives one star for being so anticlimactic.
Here you are (as a listener) all story long being inculcated with the expectation of this massive showdown between the Katniss and President Snow....pshhhh! (wont give it away but it's so disappointing trust me!)
Hell, in the end you don't even know if Coin was even responsible for the parachutes or not!
Everyone who read book 1 and 2 of this trilogy, of course will get the 3rd, but I just feel that this 3rd book The Mocking Jay was disappointing. The book kind of dragged, and most upsetting is, the ending was horrible.
Peace
"Pretty good"
This book will keep you entertained. One part I questioned though. It was as if the author is racist. Like they refer to Blacks as N-words, and whites who speak like Blacks as w--gers? That made me question the author's intent.
But the performance of 2 narrators was a good idea. Good book. Likely racist author.
"Well, its ok../pretty good..."
It first starts off very good and exciting. Before the first half is over, shocking things happen and you are really into it. By the time you are 3 quarters into the book, things slow down. I was a bit uneasy with the constant use of the n-word and 'darkies'. Its set in the south, but the author never had anyone reprimanded when they were clearly racist by their language. What I mean, is, those who you would assume are the "good guys" referred to Blacks as n**gers. So I couldn't really get behind the character.
Also Dillians character appeared to change too drastically. When he was first introduced, he was reasonable. By the end of the book, he is like a short tempered savage.
All in all, the book is pretty good.
"She Really Lets Us Know! Pay Attention!!!"
This is such a deep book in that it opens our eyes to dangerous sentiments of what we view as everyday Muslims, in which the majority of Americans may view as harmless or merely cultural. She clearly shows us that there is an ever growing segment of the world's population that are subscribing to Jihad and it's beliefs.
It would be interesting to hear Ayaan's take on the Nation Of Islam here in the U.S.
I wonder if she feels they are on board with the fundamentalist she speaks of in the sequal Nomad, and in this book and Infidel.
Great listen!

"Pretty thrilling..."
Once again, another good listen. I didn't feel cheated after listening to this. The ending was interesting. It was almost as if the author was setting things up for a part 2. But I doubt it.
