I Love young adult fiction, mysteries, clean stories with little swearing. Regency Romances are my favorite. I love fantasy, fantasy adventures, biographies, & historical fiction

    • UNABRIDGED (41 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson
    • Narrated By Michael Kramer, Kate Reading

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

Amazon Customer says: "End of one of my favorite fantasy series ever."
    "Thrilling! Exciting! Distressing! Puzzling! END"

I finished it yesterday. I was actually at the opening night festivities where they were handed out at midnight with Brandon there. WOW!! So Exciting!! I have a signed #'d copy of the book and when I got home at 2 a.m., there in my Audible Library was A Memory of Light! I had a smile on my face and had it loaded on my ipod before I went to sleep!

I can't count the times I've read this series, tore my hair out over it, cursed it and LOVED it. I am so glad that it got finished. Is it perfect? No. Satisfying? YES Does everyone make it out alive.... well most of our best loved ones do.

It is stressful! I had to stop listening more than once. War, war war, is not my favorite thing in general, and this book had a lot of it. We have been expecting Tarmon Gaidon so long that I'm just grateful it finally came.

I thought the character developments with Perrin were long overdue. I thought the bits with Matt were GREAT!! I Love Matt. I especially loved the parts with Androl and Pavara and agree they were almost my favorites I loved Min and was pleased with her part in things. I was stunned in some parts, disbelieved some parts (I had to be convinced by my husband that some characters were really dead and weren't coming back.) and am still puzzled a little about a couple of things.

There is no doubt there were enough characters, enough plot, and enough to accomplish that it truthfully could have taken another 3 novels to complete. I'm glad it didn't though. I didn't think it could be done in one novel but they did. Should it have been done differently? Who knows. I'm not an author, but I have played enough video games to know that if you are building something it is easier to go from start to finish in one go, rather than having to patch and piece it together. Trying to get a roller coaster to meet in the middle of a curve is SOOO difficult. To me this is what Brandon had to do with Jordan's bits and pieces, his own desires, tons of fans, Harriet and all his other minders. I think overall it is the apex of the epic and I can't get some parts of it out of my head.

I finished re-reading WoT 3 months ago and now I'm thinking I might have to re-read it again, looking for answers to some of my puzzling bits. Oh well..... That's WoT.! I think I'm going to have to listen to A Memory of Light again. Much of it is extremely satisfying. Hurray! for Brandon & Robert Jordan and Harriet!! I'm just grateful that it got finished.... even if there is no Potter-esque epilogue.
