I liked the book and will probably listen to it again sometime because there are a lot of details in the book. I did enjoy the book, but the author is not totally objective. I like the insights into how difficult the decision was for President Obama. .
Enjoyed the book
I enjoyed the book. I enjoyed all of her father's books, some were great, some were good and some were just ok. I would rate this book in the high end of good. I enjoyed the story and had some great detail, very much in keeping with her Dad's books.
Bring back George Guidall as the narrator. I did not like the narrator. Eventually just finished reading the book. The narrator's male voices were very distracting
Keep writing Anne! For a first Novell I think the book is very good, better than I was expecting. I look forward to her next book.
The language in this book is terrible. Sometimes langue sets the tone - in this case made the book awful. I still have a hard time believing this is a Dave Barry book, but that was his voice so I guess its his book. I have read a lot of his works going back many years and loved reading his column but hated this book. I have always loved the way he could do subtle adult humor, but there was nothing subtle here, I did not finish this book and deleted in from my player. Would give the book zero stars if possible.
I love Dave Barry's work, but from now I will be much more careful before buying one of his books.
Normally I love Dave Barry narrating his books. Just not use to the language.
Big time disappointment. Was looking for a fun, subtle Dave Barry humor book.
I was a little hesitant to read an old science fiction book. I finally gave it a go and glad I did, loved the book. I have since read the book (really read) and the whole series. You can tell a great story if it holds up over time. Sure the technology is out of date, but with a good story you don't care and the story is great. I highly recommend the book, the trilogy and the rest of the series.
Let me start out by saying the book is very fun and enjoyable. Much better than the movie. My problem comes in that the book is portrayed as a true story of Frank Abagnale's history, but if you do some research you will find that it is hard to prove what really happened. The book was written with a ghost writer and even Frank Abagnale has said that some of it was a stretch but he will not say what parts. I was going to read his other books but after doing a little research I decided that I will just move on and not ready any of his other books.
The performance is great - really enjoyable.
Yes, not ready any more books by the author.
I really liked I, Robot, but probably should not have a picture from the movie since there is very little in common between the movie and the book. Common items, the name, some character names and robots, but that is where it ends. I like a lot of Asimov and found this a very fun read highly recommend the book.
I choose this book based on the reviews, so a lot of people like the book. Personally I found it pretty dull, very slow and generally boring. I like quite a bit of classic science fiction, but this book was not for me. I did like the reader and probably would have not finished but he did a good job. This is the only book I have listened to or read by Stanislaw Lem, if you like the author then this book is probably for you.
No, but doubt I will read another book by Stanislaw Lem.
I would not let my comments stop you from choosing the book. But you might want to try the sample first. I choose it based on the reviews and personally I did not care for the book.
Good information and the reader was did a good job on the material. Only thing I would prefer is not to have the advertisements read. One they were way out of date and they made the reading a little disjointed.
Pretty easy to listen to and to follow.
I wonder how many of those who are trashing this book actually looked at some of the studies quoted. I am not saying he is right or wrong, but at least he is opening a honest debate. Too many people just take the media and press release statements from groups as facts. I do think he has provided a valuable service in this book if he can get people to do their own critcal thinking and stop listening to the 30 sec. sound bytes.
