Jim Dale's reading! Michael's growing maturity!
Michael & Emma
Michael tricking the dragon
Michael reviving his sister
One of the best children's books in many years. Better than Fablehaven, Maximum flight or Percy Jackson. My son is riveted.
Authentic, singular, exotic
Classic whodunit that keeps you guess! It satisfies the requisite who, why,
Yes! Well written, fast paced & compelling
MacArthur's sheer incompetence
Yes! How the nation that just won WWII was lead by egotistical has beens in an army lead by the in crowd than competence. Sounded like the British in WWI.
I learned from the book. It could have been streamlined a bit! I appreciate the author bringing out Nixon, kissinger & the State department.
Book has a weak ending. After cramming all that research, it could do with a fast forward to 21st century US China relationship to put the trip into context! More Of how china was changed by this visit would be nice!
I ended up read a book on the Long March & on the Korean war - the coldest winter.
First person POV of a precocious young man whose sensibilities go beyond the mundane. Gals, guns & galore a plenty in this novel.
The bank scene, the weapons dealer, the motorcycle chase & the final denouement.
David in the deadend tunnel.
A fitting closure to one of the longest epic fantasy novels in existence. Not even Tolkien could hold one's attention for this many books. Sanderson's voice fits Jordan's. Matt, Rand, Perrin & Egwain fulfilling their fates.
Please do not make a film of this series. It will ruin the printed pages.
Book repeats itself again & again. Authors need an editor to trim all that verbiage & trash those unnecessary sentences. A reader's digest condensed version should make this book readable.
Learn to write more pithily.
Came highly recommended but quite disappointing. Beats each point to death. Redundant reiteration of summary point to ad nauseam.
Top 10% because of the strong character of the protagonists, coherent & novel system of magic, storyline & the delightful sarcasm & wit of the author. Very few modern fantasy writers know about Akhenaten & Ra. His ability to weave in these tidbits create a charming and coherent world view.
The final battle, Ptolemeus & Bartimaeus, the appearance of Lord Naldo
Excellent portrayal. Perfect storyteller. His reading brings the listener into Stroud's world.
Mostly smile and laugh!
A modern day children' classic
Yes, because for fans of WOT, it has crucial elements in the storyline necessary to understand the whole series.
almost did not make it
The Rand Nynaeve cleansing of the taint was less of a denouement than I would anticipate. The Aes Sedai all felt it but nary a reaction from the Balck Tower.
Grover Gardner is a fine reader. Story moves fast even though I dreaded reading about Miles' death, the story is very compelling. Ms Bujold's characters grow and change. Excellent character development. Very consistent portrayal of main & side characters.
Mark calling Corrine.
Miles waking up!
Ivan mourning for Miles.
