This book started interestingly, but slow. Mid-way through, I was hooked! The book was fantastic and has left me thinking about it still. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who enjoys an unusual and interesting story.
Told from an entirely unique perspective, the victim's, this book is captivating and heart-wrenching and heart-warming. I didn't think I would connect with this book like others had...but in the end it got me. Of course there were things about I wish were different, but I think the author got it right...things don't always happen the way you want them to. Listen to this, and enjoy.
This was the book that got me hooked on Demille. I've since read Plum Island, the first book to use this character, and both are excellently written. Although Demille's other books usually have military themes, all of them to date are very enjoyable and well written books. If you've never tried his books, I highly recommend this one to get you hooked!
I found this book to be enthralling for both the story and the wealth of historical information about the Viet Nam war. I admit I don't know enough about what happened during that time to truly appreciate what occurred, but this book did an excellent job of piqueing my interest. It provides an amazing account of what some soldiers experienced during such a time. Moreover, it has encouraged me to seek out and learn more about what happened during the Viet Nam war. I highly recommend this book to anyone with similar interests, or who would like to listen to a great mystery/story.
This is the first book I listened to with my audible account. It did a great job of getting me hooked on audible books and the story as well. I've recommended this book to others and hope that the new movie version is as good as the book.
How could it not be good? Nelson Demille has always told a great story and with Scott Brick reading, it is definitely a great listen. I highly recommend this book as well as other Demille books. Only disappointed that I've listened to all that they have. He is now a favorite author of mine.
I loved this book! I was looking for something long and worth my money. This was definitely it. While lengthy (4o hours!), it was definitely enthralling and quickly addictive. I enjoyed the narrator and author so much that I quickly sought out additional books by them. Be wary, while the reader is excellent in other books, the author's other books just don't compare. This is truly his best and most comprehensive work.
This is one of my favorite books. I enjoyed it for the information and story it provided. The narrator did an excellent job and the author wove a truly interesting and fantastic story. Wish she would write more in similar style.
I have enjoyed this book so much, as have all of my friends who have read or listened to this. The book is excellently written, and the narrator does a fantastic job! My only disappointment is that the author hasn't written more.
I have become a fan of Dan Brown's since listening to the Da Vinci code. Thought Digital Fortress was interesting and tried this one out too. Perhaps most interesting is his knowledge of religion, history, and art/artistry. As far as plots go, it might be a little weak, or predictable, but the book is still good enough to entertain for other reasons.
