Harrowing. Fascinating. Trying.
Well, spoken, read with interest and understanding of the subject matter.
Nope, too long. It did hold my attention for the duration though. I am personally very interested in the subject matter (cults, weird religions, brain-washing etc.)
Worth checking out by anyone who is curious about the "non-glamorous" (i.e. no celebrities involved) side of Scientology, the author gives a detailed first person account of being born into the ludicrous 'religion' of Scientology - basically a new-age cult formed by a science fiction writer - and becoming one of it's foot soldiers.... the oppressive, fascistic 'Sea Org' - a militaresque order of the most dogmatic members of the religion. The levels of psychological torture, brain-washing and child abuse boggle the mind. No wonder this cult is so secretive, defensive....and litigious!
Very interesting concept, well researched and written.
The detail of the subject matter; it was concise yet thorough.
No, but he certainly reads well and I would be pleased to hear him read again.
I found the history of beer to be particularly engaging, as I had no idea it was one of the earliest beverages ever made.
Highly recommended to any history buffs.
