"Harris is back!"
Charlaine Harris is back!!!
Dead and Gone has the same magic that the first 4 books did. It was simply delightful, and I can't wait until book #10.
The past 4 books had left me disappointed, but I kept holding out hope that Harris would get back on track, and she certainly did with Dead and Gone. I'm even more in love with Eric now, and am starting to muster some old forgotten feelings about Bill! Yup, Harris did a heck of a job to get us thinking about Bill again.
She did a wonderful job with tieing up some loose ends from the previous lack-luster books. She didn't bring in a brigade of new characters, like previously, and she did a superb job with cutting down on the cast. Refreshingly, the story is set in Sookie's town, instead of strung out all over the Mid-South like in other books.
In books 5-8, I found myself wanting to fast forward through huge chunks of page filling jabber. In Dead and Gone, I can't recall being bored one time with the dialogue! The book kept me on my toes pretty much the whole time.
Of course, Dead and Gone isn't as good as book #4......there's no topping that! But it's close. The reason that book #4 is so good, is because Eric is throughout the entire book. Eric appears quite a bit in this book, and I think that's why so many people will love it. If Harris wants to keep the public in her favor, and continue with the success of book #4, she will keep highlighting Eric, like she did with this book.

"Ditto to Martha in IL!"
By: Angie (Jamestown, TN, USA)
Ditto to everything Martha, in Stonington IL, stated! I couldn't have said it better myself.
I managed to suffer through 4 chapters of this book, before turning off my ipod. When the overwhelming urge to vomit arose, I knew it was time to quit. All of the "obey me" and "little one" comments were sickening! The picture that the author draws of the lead female character, is one of a child. She constantly comments on her frail and fragile bones, how small she is, her big blue eyes, long lashes, silkie long hair, etc. By the description, Raven is less than 5 feet tall and like 80 pounds. Combine that with the the nickname of "little one" and Mikhail acting like a controlling father, I'm getting a mental picture of a father and daughter, which made me want to vomit!
There's one good thing that came from this book.......I now know to look for romance/vampire books with a strong female lead! These delicate/overly feminine/no mind of my own female leads are for the birds!!!!
I will not finish this book.....I will never purchase another book from this author.......and I highly recommend NOT wasting your credit or money on this one.
"I'M SHOCKED!"

Ya know, I really liked this book! I know, it suprised me too! I've never come across an erotic book that I could get into, like the characters, or that I didn't find cheezy.
So I'm giving this book 5 stars! Not 5 stars because it's an excellent book, but 5 stars because it's the best erotic book that I've listened to. It's Megan Hart's best work, in my opinion. I didn't find the storyline ridiculous, and ended up being really attached to the characters. Alex won my heart! I just wish that the ending was different, but I won't give away any spoilers. (wink, wink, I love Alex)
If you're looking for an erotica to listen to, I definitely recommend "Tempted"!!!!
"WARNING!!!!!!!"
Angie (Jamestown, TN, USA)
This audiobook should come with a warning!!!
*****IF YOU LISTEN TO THIS, YOU WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED WITH ANOTHER AUTHOR OR NARRATOR!*****
No exageration, I've purchased dozens of audiobooks since the Outlander series, and nothing compares. The stars were lined just perfect when they combined Gabaldon and Porter.
"Poorly Edited Vampire Erotica for Bisexuals"
Angie (Jamestown, TN, USA)
Boy, was I disappointed in this book!
First, let me address the audio problems. The editing completely sucks! You can tell where the recording stops and starts, even in the middle of a sentence. The voice goes off dramatically. The narrator will be doing a descent job, and then there's a drop in the volume and it's like he's reciting the classifieds. It does this through out the audiobook.
Now, let me get to the narrator. I've heard so much better! He can NOT do female voices, at all! He doesn't even make an effort to change the male voices when they're having a conversation, and you end up not knowing who's saying what. And like I previously stated, it's like he's reciting the classifieds when there's a fight or sex scene. With a little more training, he would be pretty good, but until he can learn to change his voice when the character changes, he's going to keep getting negative comments.
Now, let me address the book in general. Why hadn't anyone written a review telling us that there's a huge homosexual undertone to this book? Yup, you read me correctly! (not that there's anything wrong with that) It's just that when I'm listening to a romance, I expect my fantasy man NOT to be in love with other men! It was such a turn off. Plus, the whole dominatrics thing.......yuck. I want a little passion and romance.....just a little wouldn't hurt, at least in the beginning. Let me have a chance to get to know a character, before they start getting freaky. And then there's the ending of the book. I won't give away any spoilers. I'll just state that I did not like it, and I feel that not much imagination went into it.
I gave this audiobook 2 stars, because I liked how Jane's story began. How she and V meet is really sweet and interesting. The book had potential.
I can't believe that I passed on a $60 Diana Gabaldon novel for this, with my monthly credit. Uggg! So disappointing.
"I AM SO IN LOVE ADAM NOW!"
Wow! I loved this book! It was a treat to have Adam, a fairy, as the main character instead of a highlander. Even though Adam was an evil troll in some of the previous books, you will fall head over hills in love with him during this book. The book was perfect from start to finish!
Before listening to this audio, you should at least start at book 3. You won't understand the whole storyline, unless you listen to book 3, 4 & 5.
After this book, if you plan to go on to book 7, I would advise against it. I was so entranced with this book, that I had to immediately start listening to the next. What a disappointment! Just embrace your fantasies of Adam, and be content to end this series there.

"IS THIS THE SAME AUTHOR???"
I was SO disappointed with this book. I'm a huge fan of the series, and adore the previous books, but this one is terrible. I couldn't even bring myself to like the main characters.
This story line is getting REALLY old:
1. an ancient highlander who has sex with any woman he wants
2. a present day, early 20s, smart, beautiful woman, who of course, has to be a virgin
3. they meet in the present day
4. he wants her, she wants him, but she won't admit it
5. she ends up being his one true soul mate
6. something happens where it looks like they can't be together
7. they end up happily ever after
Please, change it up a little!
In this book, Jessi is suppose to be a very intelligent woman, but is as ditzy as they come. Who, with a hint of a brain, actually says "as if"???? Jessi is annoying, whiny, and down right needy.
Something else that really nagged me in this book.....all of the flash backs. They were from things that happened an hour ago, to days ago. Over and over, flash backs. Why not just tell the story as it happens?
I liked Cian at first. His character was so intriguing. He was a brute and a true barbarian! But as soon as they got to the castle, he became like the unmasculine men of present day, that Jessi hates so much. He's just as needy and clingy as Jessi.
It's obvious that Moning is giving up on this series. The writing just isn't the same as the previous books. I've read terrible reviews for book 8, which isn't on audio and probably never will be. It's just a tiny little book, consisting of only 100 pages. Yup, she's given up on this series, so I wouldn't be getting your hopes up that there'll be more.

"Watched True Blood, Now Hooked On The Books!"
I watched the first season of True Blood on HBO, and it got me curious about the books. I was hooked immediately! True Blood's first season is based on the first book, but it's still a MUST to read/listen! I flew through books 1-8, on audio, in just 5 days! The first 4 books are amazing, just overlook the little mistakes made in names, plots, etc. But after book 4, it's downhill, mostly. Hopefully if True Blood continues on HBO, they do a ton of editing to the story lines in the later seasons.

"Oooooooooh Booooooooy!"
All I can say, is "oooooooh booooooooy!"
Just thinking of this book makes my toes tingle. It's by far the best of the series.....hopefully, so far. I'm head over hills in love with Eric now. I had been on Bill's team, but since this book, forget Bill! When I finish listening to the entire series, I'm immediately listening to this book again. Through out books 5, 6 & 7, my mind keeps wondering back to #4. Why can't they all be like this? No wonder book #5 has so many bad reviews......you can't improve on perfection, and Dead to the World is delightful perfection.
