This book was different it pitted so many different characters each one having his own personality and reasons for fighting in this battle.
Larkin he made me laugh
I liked this book. I liked the different characters and the story. It wasn't the same as every other vampire, witch, sorcerer book I've read. It transcended worlds with strong and weak characters each bringing out personalities of their own.
Fast paced, best narrator, best storyline. Witty. Laugh out loud funny. Edge of your seat drama, love story, historical history book. Love this series. best one this year!
I'm a big Outlander fan. I liked Lord John Gray but he seemed different in this book. He wasn't the character I remember. Perhaps that's why I didn't feel into this book.
The miniaturist is a book about a young naive girl an mean religious woman and a wealthy gentleman who all have secrets from each other and amongst the town. It's all about revenge and too much pride.
This was a interesting book it could of went far except it didn't. The characters we normal than they weren't. It's almost like the author needed more excitement so she threw in a cast of characters that didn't have any supernatural "issues" then they did. It was confusing and spotty. It didn't flow well.
This was lack luster at best. I couldn't grasp any interest in the characters at all. They seemed boring and flat. The story dragged two chapters later and she was STILL describing the same scene the same concept... the same. It could of been a four hour book. The narrative was blasé and I kept falling asleep. Then I'd have to go back just to see what I had missed except it was nothing and i wasted my time. This is the third Hugh Howey book I've tried and the third one I haven't thought wow what a book! Next time i'll skip mr Hugh Howey.
First off I loved this book. I found myself staying awake at night to listen to it. Finding a moment here and there to steal away and listen. It was so worth the credit. The title confused me I thought that this book was going to be about her captors having the mean streak boy was I wrong! Just when I thought I had figured it all out . Nope. It took twists I wasn't expecting and the ending was perfect and wrapped the novel up perfectly. I highly recommend it.
I'm a big fan of Deborah Harkness and although Emily Croy barker is comparable she has a writing style all her own. She's choppy and ithe story I found didn't flow well. But overall it's ok. Thier are too many books out there to go for a reread on this one.
I didn't find this book as humorous as the Jane series but it was funny. This ghost story was a different from Molly Harper's other books and just as enjoyable. Although I could of skipped the first five chapters and still knew what was going on in the storyline. The plot is slow and predictable right till the climax which of course happens near the end.
Mike you left me hanging man! Where's the rest of the story! I feel used and tossed away. I spent time and energy and you left me with the feeling of being unfinished.
Usually I'm blind to the top books and I pick authors that aren't selling well ( it's an indie thing) but I'm glad I tried this one. I did find it slow going but I enjoyed it.
