"Not Disappointed"
Listening to this book was what I expected it to be, light and entertaining.
I enjoy these WMC myteries so I was satisfied with the ending.
It would depend on the actors. Also, I don't like the character Cindy in these books so maybe I would just watch a made for tv movie of the book.
This book was what I expected, satisfying and it kept me interested.
"Ok"
It was not a waste of time.
I just came off of listening to Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series. I suggest listening to this book first because it is not as exciting by comparison.
Scott Harvath.
No.
This book was OK, it was a not as exciting as what I had hoped it would be. The details were not as sophisticated as in the VF books.
"Flynn Doesn't Disappoint"
I would listen to every book in the Mitch Rapp Series again... I would just wait a bit in between. It's fast paced.
I love how Irene Kennedy handles herself under pressure.
I liked the performance of the narrator but unfortunately his Mitch Rapp voice doesn't top George Guidall's.
I loved the scene where Mitch reconnects with his former lover Donatella. Fun.
I still do not like the Anna character. She was just as annoying in this book as the others. If it were not for her character this series would be flawless.
"Start Better than the Ending"
Wow, Great, HUH? The first 1/3 of this book was such a great listen I had given it five stars but as I continued listening I had to give it four.
The story is interesting from the start. The moment Anna and the "romance" stupidity kicked in my attention waivered. Even in the absence of Hurley ( one of my favorite characters in the Vince Flynn books) I was totally absorbed in the story but all I could think of was how Mitch be even remotely interested in this immature self absorbed girl/woman in this book? When he was younger he had the wisdom to choose Greta who was a total catch ,his equal, but now in the middle of this crisis to be thinking romance with this Anna??? Grrr. I know she ends up being his wife. I may have to skip the next couple of books until her run in the series is done. She is resilient but it sure doesn't make her likeable. Milt saved it for me. Without Hurley we needed someone and the Milt character was just right. He was fantastic. It was fun to be introduced for the first time to some of the characters we see again later on.Sadly I would have loved to see more of Dallas King's shortcomings be revealed but it was not meant to be.I felt there were a lot of loose ends around the night it all "comes down". I would have preferred more details about the chaos which may have been going on due to the bombs going off around the city and what was being done to manage the situation and less romance stuff.
Nick was great however George Guidall is second to none in his narrative of the MR series.
Home is not always a safe place even if your home is the White House.
I was ready to listen to the entire series in a row but as mentioned earlier I want to skips a few until Anna Matures....she is annoying. Went online to see who was being considered for different parts in the movie version of American Assassin and sadly it doesn't sound like the casting is on target. :( Hope they don't blow it. This series could be bigger than the Bourne series but not if it's cast poorly it will just end up being like the last Alex Cross movie...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
"What Took Me So Long to Discover this Series?"
It is one of the finest in it's genre.
I love Hurley because he reminds me of people I know. I enjoy how his character plays off the others.
It's hard to say because there are so many fine moments in this book.
This is my second Vince Flynn book and I can tell I am now on my way to reading/ or listening to all of them. I enjoy his writing style.
"Gruesome"
I would recommend this book although at some points it's a little over the top.
This book had twists and turns which were unexpected right to the end.
Mr. Fernandez never disappoints and Mr. O'Hare was equally skilled as a narrator.
I will leave that to J.P's imagination ...if he writes it I will probably read it.
This book solidified my dislike for Alex Cross as a father. He constantly puts his family at risk and seems to feel he is the end all when it comes to being a father. I really don't like him beyond his crime solving skills.
"It Doesn't Disapoint"
I enjoyed the story line. Unfortunately the more Cross books I read the less I like Alex Cross. I do however like the story lines as they pertain to the crimes and so I am in the process of listening to all of them.
Again, I really don't care for the character of Alex Cross. I love hearing about the villains and their perspectives. Alex Cross is a good crime fighter but not much more beyond that. I can't understand how he gets such great women like Bri Stone to care about him when he is so unappealing as a partner.
Both Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Stuhlbarg are excellent story tellers. I enjoy all the characters they give life to.
Yes.
Despite finding Alex Cross annoying as a man, grandson and expecially a father I really enjoy the stories and "mysteries' and will continue to listen to the series.
"JP Doesn't Disappoint"
Fast Action Suspense
Yes, I enjoy the Alex Cross series.
They are strong in their performances.
Get ready for some action.
I enjoy the Alex Cross series however the more JP goes into his family life the less I like the character Alex Cross and his actions where his family are concerned.
"All Your Worth was Worth It"
Yes, I would suggest this book to college bound young adults or newlyweds.
Yes.
This is a common sense approach to keeping out of financial trouble.
"I like Carolyn McCormick as a Narrator"
Yes, because if you have read any of the Murder Club Mysteries you would know that it is an easy listen but not a waste of time.
It's better than average but not very good.
This is an excellent question. I think Mary McCormack would be great as Lindsay Boxer, Cindy Thomas should be played by Hayden Pannettiere, Claire Washburn could be Delia Parmalee if she weren't so young and fit or if it were for screen Viola Davis(?) , Kristi Yamaguchi should get her acting debut as Yuki Castellano....well maybe not but thought it was a fun suggestion. Seriously what about Hayley Kiyoko playing Yuki or Laurel Yeung ?Regarding the men...they are much more difficult to cast.
I am still thinking about which actors to cast in the male roles ;)
