I have 174 books in my Audible library and this is the only book that compelled me to write a review. This is not the worst book I've listen to, but the largest waste of time. Much of the book is boring, uninteresting dialog, followed up with several very annoying characters, from the Chicago Marine who constantly repeated himself in violent outbursts, to the drunk father, evil step mother, to the main character himself who just happens to be the best sailor, rifleman, translator, butterfly collector, and stabby knife guy in the Australian Army, all be the age of 18 years. He should be promoted to General. Choose another book.
This book was like biting into a nice piece of steak chewing, enjoying, and have to spit it out.
This book kept my attention and I was excited for a dramatic unthinkable ending and got nothing. It was just over. There were so many questions left unanswered and it ended.
After investing so much time listening I felt a little ripped off. No, I felt a lot ripped off.
