There was something wicked about Beau that drew me to him. What was wrong with me? Why did I want to sin so badly? Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

I couldn't begin to count the number of stories that involve a preacher's daughter and the "town bad-boy"- I'm glad that the cliché didn't make me ignore this book.

As usual with a story where cheating occurs, anyone especially bothering by infidelity may not want to read this book. Since I've never encountered it in my own life, I haven't formed any of the painful memories that might make it difficult for others to read this book.

The shining light in this story was the passion these characters displayed- It was refreshing and addicting, and definitely not for the faint of heart. I liked how free these teens were (except that their freedom allowed unfaithfulness), and I felt this this author has a lot of potential. I hope that she avoids cliché phrases in the future, but otherwise I found this book to be highly entertaining and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This novel really took me by surprise- not only was it true to the struggles of life after traumatic events, but it keeps the reader entertained with the stories of romance and fresh starts.

The narrator did a good job, and this writing style was very pleasurable to listen to. The characters are richly unique, and the story of their struggles and joys are well worth spending the credit.

    Story

I've loved other novels by Jeaniene Frost, and Tavia Gilbert's narrations are fine (not bad, just not versatile, and has occasional odd inflections) but this one wasn't my favorite.

Please know that I still loved listening this this story, I was never bored, I just didn't have any burning desire to keep listening (or open this book again on my next visit to my phone's audible app ). Others may simply love this story, and looking back, I should have listened to it at 1.5x speed. The plot of this story was really interesting, and sounded awesome (tough half-breed girl takes down vampires, falls in love with her co-killer vampire, endless possibilities for them in their quest to squash evil, etc.), but either the stunted sentence flow, or the lack of big excitement, ranked this one lower than I expected.

Sorry guys! I know a lot of people loved this one- I fully admit that this was a fun story to listen to, but I wouldn't call it a favorite since I have no urge to ever listen to it again.

Lots of tender writing coupled with passion, and this story pulled off the perfect mix. Not overly sexual, yet kept a great rhythm and followed a very captivating story line. The only warning I'll throw out there for those of you carefully searching for your next favorite: this is kind of a young story (i.e. is reminiscent of a young-adult drama). Despite the tame(ish) nature of the romance, the passion was definitely satisfying the lusty reader in me, just as the story's relationship satisfied the girl in me.

You're going to love it! This was well worth my credit.

    Story

I really liked this novel; not because it gave me what I was looking for (because it didn't exactly... lots of closure is rumored to arrive in the next book), but because it successfully pulled me into this interesting story line, this addicting dramatic love dilemma, and the surprising use of openly(publicly!) poetic main characters.

This story is well worth the price, and I only wish that more of the meat of this story had been included in this first novel- I'm particularly adverse to the feeling of being strung along just to follow a great story into a series of sequels, and into the bottom of my wallet.

The passion in this story was spot-on; hot yet tender, sweet yet against the rules. I will be buying the follow-up.

    Story

If you've managed to get through your life this far without having heard a novel by Kresley Cole, and narrated by Robert Petkoff, please stop everything now and listen to one- or if you're like me, listen to ALL of them.

This novel was uniquely dark compared to others in this series, but still remained an addicting true-to-love tale of two fantastical people. The twisted reality Cole has created stretches the imagination, and also brings an element of deeper love to her characters that I have found tender and erotic all at once. I enjoy a passionate adventure story as much as the next girl, but Cole is one of only a few authors that can keep me interested throughout the novel, without dipping into the usual lulls that leave our minds drifting.

If you are overly shy about sex scenes, this may be a bit too much for you. If you like to hear the sweet side of a story as well as the sexual side, I think nobody pulls it off more gracefully than Cole.

Compared to Cole's other novels, this story definitely holds up to expectations. A couple stories have seemed a tiny bit repetitive, which I feel is likely unavoidable if she remains in this story line for many more novels, but I still listened eagerly and loved each one.

I have never heard a narrator with Robert Petkoff's skill at inflection, accents, flow, or consistency. He better be making a giant pile of money for his work narrating these novels, because he is what sells them to me at any price, every time.

Rock star Lucas Wolfe is used to getting his way, and when he meets the wardrobe assistant hired for his band's newest video shoot, he wants her - preferably stripped down and bound to his bed. From the moment Sienna Jensen first obediently whispers "Yes, Mr. Wolfe" he knows she's perfect for him. Now, he has three days to convince her...but he doesn't plan on taking no for an answer. Set two years before the events of Devoured, the novella All Over You tells the dark, sexy story of Sienna and Lucas's first encounter.

    Story

I obviously did not do my research when I bought this "novella"- this was not a short story, this was the first few chapters of a short story (that is what I get for rush-purchasing during the commute home).

This is not a complete story, it is more of a prelude, and it feels like the writer typed it out in a fit of inspiration while their ideas for a story were fresh, and then forgot to get back to it.

Unless this is an introduction to another story you plan to read (which I don't know why it wouldn't be attached to the full story already), do not waste your money- even if it is a cheap purchase.

    Story

I'm impressed with the creativity of this story line, and the enjoyable way this author made her characters appeal to the reader. As with many stories, I wasn't grabbed right away with intrigue, but the building elements soon left me unable to stop listening. It isn't easy to hold the reader's attention even after the development of a relationship, but this book did just that. It also isn't easy to create a touching ending for two characters whose lives are filled with tragedy, but this author did it beautifully. This novel is well worth the money if you are a lover of historical romance, and especially if you are tired of the same old romance stories. This story would have received 5 stars for story, except that the relevance of the Raven Prince pre-chapter quotes escaped me; forgive me if you saw the connection and believe it to be a contributing factor, but I didn't see the purpose.

    Story

My thoughts on this story were mixed.... So I separated my thoughts into categories.

The good: This story will make you laugh, even if you have never stepped foot in a designer shoe store. The narrator was awesome, and oddly enough, I would listen to her again in an instant. From the large amount of wit and entertainment the author shared in this story, I get the feeling that this author has already written, or will write in the future, much more worthwhile stories.

The bad: I like stories where you want to know the characters, and I'm sad to say that I honestly don't want to know or meet any of these ones. The story shines in some spots, and drowns in some others.... The story really is entertaining to listen to, but you find yourself wondering, "Where is this story going??". Unfortunately, you will think the same thing when it abruptly screeches to a halt.

In the beginning, I was skeptical because of the odd characters and seemingly drab setting. I'm so glad I stuck with it a tiny bit longer! This book brings you into the mindset of the south in an interesting, twisted yet warming, way. The characters are real, there is no obnoxious dramatization of the typical romantic dilemmas, you feel like this is the genuine retelling of an amazing love story. Well worth the credit, and I'll be buying this author's next novel without hesitation.
