  • Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and Past-Life Therapy

    • ABRIDGED (1 hr and 28 mins)
    • By Brian L. Weiss
    • Narrated By Brian L. Weiss

Dr. Brian Weiss is a highly respected psychiatrist from the mainstream of the medical establishment. Catherine is one of his most difficult cases, a 27-year-old woman racked by phobias and anxieties. In the course of Catherine's treatment, Dr. Weiss makes a startling discovery. Under hypnosis, she recollects, in vivid detail, events from past lives ranging from the prehistoric times and ancient Egypt to the 20th century and the fires of World War II.

Rebecca Reed says: "Many Lives, Many Masters"
    "Don't get the abridged version"
What would have made Many Lives, Many Masters better?

The story was pretty interesting but I would not recommend the abridged version

What was most disappointing about Brian L. Weiss’s story?

    It felt abrupt and unfinished

How could the performance have been better?

    The performance was not bad

What character would you cut from Many Lives, Many Masters?

  • Girl Walks into a Bar...: Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 12 mins)
    • By Rachel Dratch
    • Narrated By Rachel Dratch
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Anyone who saw an episode of Saturday Night Live between 1999 and 2006 knows Rachel Dratch. She was hilarious! So what happened to her? After a misbegotten part as Jenna on the pilot of 30 Rock, Dratch was only getting offered roles as "Lesbians. Secretaries. Sometimes secretaries who are lesbians." Her career at a low point, Dratch suddenly had time for yoga, dog- sitting, learning Spanish - and dating. After all, what did a forty-something single woman living in New York have to lose?

Jeanine says: "Could not stop listening"
    "Hilarious and Suprising"
What made the experience of listening to Girl Walks into a Bar... the most enjoyable?

Rachel's narration. I love when comedians write and narrate their books.

Would you recommend Girl Walks into a Bar... to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend it. It is just a fun break.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Too many to count

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't think it is one that should be made into a movie.

  • Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Andy Cohen
    • Narrated By Andy Cohen

From a young age, Andy Cohen knew two things: He was gay, and he loved television. Now presiding over Bravo's reality-TV empire, he started out as an overly talkative pop-culture obsessive, devoted to Charlie's Angels and All My Children - and to his mother, who received daily letters from him while he was at summer camp, usually reminding her to tape the soaps. In retrospect, it's hard to believe that everyone didn't know that Andy was gay; still, he remained in the closet until college. Finally out, he embarked on making a career out of his passion for television.

Roberta says: "If you're depressed, listen to this book!!!"
    "I love Andy Cohen!"
If you could sum up Most Talkative in three words, what would they be?

    Goofy, self indulgent, Entertaining

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Funny summary and lead to more books, Please Andy

Which character – as performed by Andy Cohen – was your favorite?

    Andy Cogn

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    I definitely could have but I didn't

    Any additional comments?

    More Grasciela please

  • The American Heiress: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Daisy Goodwin
    • Narrated By Katherine Kellgren
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Be careful what you wish for. Traveling abroad with her mother at the turn of the 20th century to seek a titled husband, beautiful, vivacious Cora Cash, whose family mansion in Newport dwarfs the Vanderbilts’, suddenly finds herself Duchess of Wareham, married to Ivo, the most eligible bachelor in England. Nothing is quite as it seems, however: Ivo is withdrawn and secretive, and the English social scene is full of traps and betrayals.

Maria says: "I loved this book!"
    "Kind of weak story"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I feel that is was long and drawn out.

Would you ever listen to anything by Daisy Goodwin again?

    I seriously doubt it.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

That narration was good. It was the story that was weak.

Could you see The American Heiress being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It would be likely that they might try
