  • Covert Warriors: Presidential Agent Series, Book 7

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 32 mins)
    • By W. E. B. Griffin, William E. Butterworth
    • Narrated By Dick Hill

At a Mexican roadblock, a U.S. Embassy SUV is stopped at gunpoint, three of its passengers murdered, and a fourth kidnapped. Everything points to the drug cartels, especially when the kidnappers say they will return the hostage if a cartel kingpin is released from U.S. federal prison. But when word gets to Charley Castillo and his group of “retired” spies and special operators, they have their doubts.

    Richard Tabisz says: "Disappointing"
    "Not worth it"
This book wasn???t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is a waste. Poor story and poor performance. Come on. If this was the first book there wouldn't be a second.
I wasted a credit here. This is not up to Griffin's standards. And Dick hill has done a better job before as well.
Don't waste your time and money.

What was most disappointing about W.E.B. Griffin and William E. Butterworth ???s story?

Incomplete story with out much input from the main characters.

What didn???t you like about Dick Hill???s performance?

To over the top. Need to go easy on those accents.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Covert Warriors?

I would send it back and ask for a rewite.

    Any additional comments?

I'm going to sample the next one before I buy it. I enjoyed the series till now.

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (30 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Stephen King
    • Narrated By Craig Wasson

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Kelly says: "I Owe Stephen King An Apology"
Would you consider the audio edition of 11-22-63 to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but this is outstanding. I

What was one of the most memorable moments of 11-22-63?

The very last scene made me cry.

Have you listened to any of Craig Wasson???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it i too long for that.

    Any additional comments?

I may become a King fan yet. I never would read his books since I m not a horror fan. And I thought that was all he wrote. This is not a horror story although there is horror here. I feel the book is a look at a past and future. A question of what might happen if what ifs were realized.
I like the pace of the book and it was the right length. I will try another.
