Edgar Roy - an alleged serial killer held in a secure, fortress-like Federal Supermax facility-is awaiting trial. He faces almost certain conviction. Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are called in by Roy's attorney, Sean's old friend and mentor Ted Bergin, to help work the case. But their investigation is derailed before it begins-en route to their first meeting with Bergin, Sean and Michelle find him murdered. It is now up to them to ask the questions no one seems to want answered....

    Overall

The female narrator on this recording makes it almost impossible to listen to. She imparts a weird Southern accent to Michelle that is completely wrong for her character.

The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire. Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant.

This is the first vampire book I've every read, and I was quite pleasantly surprised. It held my interest from beginning to end, and was funny at times as well. Despite the far-fetched nature of subject matter, I found the characters believable.

He's the most unlikely hero you'll ever meet, an ordinary guy with a modest job you might never look at twice. But there's so much more to any of us than meets the eye, and that goes triple for Odd Thomas. For Odd lives always between two worlds in the small desert town of Pico Mundo, where the heroic and the harrowing are everyday events. Odd never asked to communicate with the dead, it's something that just happened.

    Sittingduck says: "Detailed Koontz"
    "Worst of the series"
    Overall

This book is a huge disappointment for Odd Thomas fans. It basically consists of Odd running around in an abandoned casino hotel, being chased by some weird woman who wants him to conjure up dead spirits for her. Very few funny parts.
