  • Bad Luck and Trouble: A Jack Reacher Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 16 mins)
    • By Lee Child
    • Narrated By Dick Hill
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Jack Reacher reunites with the survivors of his old Army investigative team, scrambling to raise the living, bury the dead, and connect the dots in a mystery that is growing darker by the day. In a world of bad luck and trouble, when someone targets Jack Reacher and his team, they'd better be ready for what comes right back at them.

As I typed the title of my review, I was reminded of a line in the book: "I love BLT's..." I wasn't sure I would like this book after reading some of the reviews, but I did enjoy it. I had no problem with the narrator, I like his Jack Reacher voice, all gravelly and he didn't do too bad with the women either. I've heard worse narrators.

  • The Brass Verdict: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 54 mins)
    • By Michael Connelly
    • Narrated By Peter Giles

Things are finally looking up for defense attorney Mickey Haller. After two years of wrong turns, Haller is back in the courtroom. When Hollywood lawyer Jerry Vincent is murdered, Haller inherits his biggest case yet: the defense of Walter Elliott, a prominent studio executive accused of murdering his wife and her lover. But as Haller prepares for the case that could launch him into the big time, he learns that Vincent's killer may be coming for him next.

Jeff says: "Five Star Book; Three Star Narration"

I finished this book last night and thought it was excellent. I hope it's not the last of Mickey/Harry books. We see a different side of Harry here but he's just doing his job and like always he acts all tough but I think he has a soft heart.

  • Shopaholic & Sister

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Sophie Kinsella
    • Narrated By Josephine Bailey

Hot off the success of her best-selling Can You Keep a Secret?, Sophie Kinsella delivers another hilarious Becky Bloomwood novel. When last we left Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood), she and Luke had just married and she'd unveiled her big honeymoon surprise...around-the-globe plane tickets. World-weary 10 months later, the newlyweds return home filled with excitement to share the details of their amazing escapades.

Kim says: "My least favourite of the Shopaholic books"
"Had me in stitches and tears"

I really enjoyed this fourth "Becky" book, I thought I'd be fed up and at times you do say to yourself 'come on, Becky! Straighten up" but it's funny and I cried all the way home one day when she found herself at loose ends and her world falling apart. some reviewers say she never learns from her mistakes, but I think this book shows she does learn something. Can't wait for the Baby book.
