Khaavren of the House of Tiassa is a son of landless nobility, possessor of a good sword and “tolerably well-acquainted with its use.” Along with three loyal friends, he enthusiastically seeks out danger and excitement. But in a realm renowned for repartee and betrayals, where power is as mutable as magic, a young man like Khaavren, newly come from the countryside, had best be wary. His life depends on it. And so does the future of Draegara.

This book, Phoenix Guards, is an homage to The Three Musketeers by Dumas and the romantic writers of that time. I have always loved this book, and the sequel: 500 Years After, because Three Musketeers has been my favorite book since I was a kid.

I had given up hoping that Phoenix Guards would get released on audio, when this came out! Then, I was cautious, because I wasn't sure they would find the right reader.

BEST READER EVER! My husband and I both, spent two days listening to, and laughing out loud in delight at the amazing job that Kevin Stillwell did reading all the different characters! The comedic timing of his pauses - he made a brilliant book BETTER!!!!!

I have already purchased 500 Years After, and can't wait to share it with my husband.

Be aware, that this is written in a very stylized manner = an unusual, non-modern style. I take great delight in it and recommend that you wait and listen to the authors' bios at the end. It will totally make you laugh!

If you aren't familiar with the Vlad Taltos series by Brust, that is OK. Read this if you loved The Three Musketeers. If you are a Brust fan, as I am, you have to buy this now and read it ASAP!

I want to thank Audible Publishing, for doing a brilliant job, and for Kevin Stillwell, who is just a genius!

Sebastian Ballister, the notorious Marquess of Dain, is big, bad, and dangerous to know. No respectable woman would have anything to do with the "Bane and Blight of the Ballisters", and he wants nothing to do with respectable women. He's determined to continue doing what he does best - sin and sin again - and all's going swimmingly…until the day a shop door opens and she walks in.

Would you listen to Lord of Scoundrels again? Why?

This is hands down the funniest historical romance I have read that was not written by Georgette Heyer. This brilliant book is my favorite re-read. I listened to this with my husband, who was laughing out loud with me! BRILLIANTLY narrated by probably the best narrator in the business, I can not recommend this book enough!

What other book might you compare Lord of Scoundrels to and why?

It has no comparison, unless it be to the patter comedy movies like Cary Grant and Rosalind Russel in His Girl Friday.

Which character – as performed by Kate Reading – was your favorite?

I adored her rendition of the Jessica and Dain, but hands down I laughed until I choked when Kate read Bertie Trent (he brother of Jessica): Beyond masterful - hats off to Kate Reading for all the characters in this book!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't sleep the night I bought it. I just had to listen to the whole thing! I was squealing with delight when I found out it was available at last! My husband came running when he heard me : ) I have been waiting for this for so long! I have re-listened to it 3 times since it came out a week ago and adore it even more.

    Any additional comments?

The best book by by one of the all time best romance authors Loretta Chase. I can not WAIT for the rest of her amazing and hilarious books to come out!! I will buy all of them as soon as they hit Audible. I already own all of them in paperback and Kindle formats.

Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their rational, mathematical minds to universities as scholars and teachers. As the treaty's anniversary draws near, however, tensions are high. Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered.

What did you love best about Seraphina?

I loved the setting and the logic of the way the author blends religion and fantasy. Its a rich and full world. Seraphina sucked me in and took me far away to a wonderful world. This book reminds me of Curse of Challion by Lois McMaster Bujold, but for teens.

This is a mature book - well worth the read for adults as well as teens.

I am going to buy copies for all the teens I know.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sephronia's uncle - he is a very unique character. He reminds me of Spock.

What does Mandy Williams and Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The fact that the music comes alive in this book makes it far richer than just the printed words. I think everyone should listen to this, even if they have read it already in print.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did cry and laughed as well!

    Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the next book in the series!

What did you love best about Etiquette & Espionage?

Everything. There is so much charm, fun, puns, etiquette, mystery and of course manners! You don't have to have read any other of Gail's books, though it is even more pure fun if you have!

This is a teen book, set in a prequel time period around 30 years before the Soulless series.

This is a new narrator, but she is just as amazing - Gail is one lucky author to have narrators like this one!

Sweet, fun and tart - that is this book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sophronia - but the whole cast is awesome.

Have you listened to any of Moira Quirk’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and she is always delightful.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed all the way through!

In this Hugo-winner from Connie Willis, when too many jumps back to 1940 leave 21st century Oxford history student Ned Henry exhausted, a relaxing trip to Victorian England seems the perfect solution. But complexities like recalcitrant rowboats, missing cats, and love at first sight make Ned's holiday anything but restful - to say nothing of the way hideous pieces of Victorian art can jeopardize the entire course of history.

Why oh why did they find such an awful narrator for my favorite series by Anne McCaffery? The Harper Hall trilogy has been my favorite since I was a teen. I waited for so long to hear it in audio, and was really disappointed.

The reader is plodding, too old for the characters and is not good at changing her voice to suit characters. She makes a wonderful series boring.

My only hope is that somehow, someday, due to Anne McCaffery's popularity will cause all of her books to get new narrators. They deserve them.

The Beka Cooper series, of which this is the 3rd and final installment, are Tamora Pierce's masterworks. My husband, who doesn't often like the same books I do, spent a day off work to listen to this book with me. He and I have shared the 1st and 2nd books in the series (Terrier and Bloodhound) together as well.

A kick ass main character, fantastic supporting cast, and a truly awesome narrator, make this tense and rich plot the best of the series. I cried several times, moved by characters and situations as if they were real.

Please go buy Beka Cooper: Terrier and start reading from there. Don't be put off by the fact this is a "YA" novel. It has adult themes and is worthy of any adult. If you have kids, this series has violence and some adult themes, so I would put it at 12 and up. Terrier is slanted younger, as the character is only 16. Beka Cooper: Bloodhound has Beka 17. In Bloodhound Beka is 20 and fully adult.

This is a high fantasy novel with very original magic, great action, and a thoroughly fascinating world.

I have listened to this 5 times in the 5 days I have owned it. That sort of says it all.

I actually bought copies of this book and sent them around the world to men and women - with the agreement that if they didn't like it, they just returned it to me, but if they liked it, they had to send it to more people. Hundreds of people have read this book because of me - and finally I bought the Audible version, because my tapes and CD's of the book wore out. This is my favorite book to share with women or men, no matter what kind of books they like. And everyone has loved it!

Meg Langslow knew the fan convention for her actor-boyfriend's hit television series was going to be the ultimate in weird. But she came along because she figured Michael could use an occasional dose of sanity, and because it was an inspired place to sell her hand-crafted weapons. And so far, she was dealing pretty well with the costumed fans camped outside, the batch of escaped parrots and monkeys frolicking throughout the hotel, and the minefield of egos lurking behind the show's success.
