"Great Talk! Women especially..read this"
Straight Talk No Chaser should be a manual for young to older women! It gives strong insight into the male psyche without indecipherable words and jargon. I am 49 now, if I had this information in my 20's, I would have been a better person for it! There is something for everyone; men too. This is a great use of a credit
"Good Listen...not great, but good"
This book actually gives you all the elements you would want from a book entitled "Hit Man". You have a professional hit man, realistic situations and even morbid humor. I listened twice because I enjoyed it. It is not long, 7 hrs, 44 minutes, so that might be a turn off to some for the credit, but if I recall correctly, the price is real gentle if you opt to pay. I would give the book a 3-1/2 but did not have that option. The reader is excellent.
"Great. Dark"
Stephen King wanted a visceral and emotional response from Full Dark. No Stars and he got it from me. It kept me glued to one spot for most of the tales as if I was at the cinema. I just completed the end of this book and have to tell you to get ready for the ride. If you're squeamish, keep it moving; buy another audiobook. For those who know Stephen King's true niche is "horror"; you're going to enjoy this book.
"Great Book! Too Short!"
As usual, this Sookie Stackhouse series book does not disappoint. The narration is spot on, in fact, she is one of the best narrators I've ever heard. Couple talent with a good plot and you've got a great story. Don't want to say too much and spoil the experience...it is worth the read. Wish it was longer for the credit!!! In fact, I gave it only 4 stars because.....it really should be lengthier!
"Oh No!!! Read this review first!!"
Love Dean Koontz. Read this novel years ago and enjoyed it. Figured I'd listen as I work from home to keep me entertained....It's not the content, it's the narration. The voice drones on and on almost with no inflection or mood changes or character changes. Come on, at least lighten your deep voice to reflect the young man's age! I have not completed listening and have stopped to write this review. I will finish one day but have bought two other audiobooks within 72 hours to compensate for my lost credit. Sigh......
"My introduction to Harry Bosch was...okay"
I always read the reviews before I use my precious credit. There were so many raves about this Harry Bosch character that I threw my lot in and purchased the book. I think for a newcomer to this series, probably reading from introduction or 1st book would be best. It took me two months to complete, not because I am illiterate, but because you have to sort out who's who, etc., to the point that I lost interest, came back, lost interest. From the middle to the conclusion, it was not such a bad listen, but not creditworthy.
"Great Listen!"
I am a vampire lore fan; love the movies from the first silent vampire film to every movie and quite a few different books that are out there. With that being said, I think this audiobook is a great listen for vampire fans that can stand laughter infused in the storyline. If you can't, this is not the book for you. If you are a True Blood fan, then reading (listening) to this series, where I assume Sookie Stackhouse originated, is a blast. Extremely well narrated, you are in for a treat. I only gave it 4 stars because it was short for an unabridged novel.
"Snooze fest"
I am a great fan of Stephen King. This was not a good book. I used my credit for this audiobook on the glowing reviews of readers and am now wondering if "the ballot box was stuffed". This has to be one of the most boring, uninspiring books written by Stephen King. It took me 3 weeks to get through the first 2 hours because I did not look forward to the next chapters. Purchase at your own risk!
"Before you use your credit, read this!"
I know you don't know me, but I need you to trust me. Hide is engaging from the start, from the introduction of the main characters to the build up to the surprising end, this book keeps a steady pace. If there were a 3-1/2 star rating, this book would get it. I didn't rate it higher because while "steady" is good, to be able to say "exhilarating" or "exciting", or "I couldn't wait to get back to this book", are what 4 and 5 stars are made of. Hide wouldn't be a waste of a credit, but just know you will get a little better than mediocre.
"Funny Funny Funny!"
If you like to laugh, and expletives don't make you flinch, you are in for a treat!!!
Definitely adult humor and should not be played in front of children! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth a listen!!
