An earthquake in Masada, Israel, kills hundreds and reveals a tomb buried in the heart of the mountain. A trio of investigators - Sergeant Jordan Stone, a military forensic expert; Father Rhun Korza, a Vatican priest; and Dr. Erin Granger, a brilliant but disillusioned archaeologist - are sent to explore the macabre discovery, a subterranean temple holding the crucified body of a mummified girl. But a brutal attack at the site sets the three on the run, thrusting them into a race to recover what was once preserved in the tomb's sarcophagus: a book rumored to have been written by Christ's own hand....

I've never before read one of James Rollins books. This is my first and I was not disappointed at all. The story moved a long quickly and the characters were engaging. There was a couple of plot points I could see coming but some times if the trip getting there is good enough it doesn't matter.

I will certainly read any more books that come along in this series.

I also really liked the narrator. I thought he did a very good job and I liked his voice.

Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia. Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart.

I really love Angel. Rowland does such a great job with this character and the world she lives in. I don't do the end of the world stuff but this is a zombie even I can love.

The narrator, Allison McLemore does a wonderful job. She's spot on for this book.

Kate, a former investigator for the Anchorage D.A. and now a P.I. for hire, is missing after a winter spent in mourning. Alaska State Trooper Jim Chopin, Kate's best friend, needs her to help him work a new case. He discovers her hiding out in Bering, a small fishing village on Alaska's western coast, living and working under an assumed name, working hard, as 18-hour workdays seem to be her only justification for getting up in the morning.

I have to admit I read the reviews of the one before this and because I couldn't face losing Jack Morgan I didn't read it. I'll go back at the end and get to it then.

That said, this is very good. I like Chopper Jim and it's nice to see Kate come out of the haze of pain.

    Thank goodness for Mutt.

As usual Marguerite Gavin did a wonderful job. I love the audio of these books so much.

Imperial law enforcer Amaranthe Lokdon is good at her job: She can deter thieves and pacify thugs, if not with a blade, then by toppling an eight-foot pile of coffee canisters onto their heads. But when ravaged bodies show up on the waterfront, an arson covers up human sacrifices, and a powerful business coalition plots to kill the emperor, she feels a tad overwhelmed. Worse, Sicarius, the empire's most notorious assassin, is in town. He's tied in with the chaos somehow, but Amaranthe would be a fool to cross his path. Unfortunately, her superiors order her to hunt him down.

I like this but I suspect the reason I didn't like it more was I wasn't really crazy about the narrator because I read the one before this and liked it better. I'll read the next ones because I liked the characters a great deal. There were plot problems but I'm sure it will get better.

But when a series of bizarre, seemingly unrelated slayings rock the city, Davenport suspects a connection that runs deeper than anyone had imagined - one that leads to an ingenious killer more ruthless than anyone had feared....

I really enjoyed this. The plot was a bit weak but I love the characters so much. Lucas is such a dog and his band of cops crack me up.

Richard Ferrone as usual did a bang up job narrating. At this point I'd be disappointed if I actually had to read one of these books.

How do you keep the people you care about safe from enemies you can’t remember? Ten years ago, Nate Garrett awoke on a cold warehouse floor with no memory of his past and the only clues to his identity were a piece of paper with his name on it and a propensity toward magic. Now he’s a powerful sorcerer and a successful thief for hire, but it turns out that those who stole his memories aren’t done with him yet. When they cause a job to go bad, threatening a sixteen-year-old girl, Nate swears to protect her.

This was a little slow in the beginning but it is the first in a series so it's not unexpected. It didn't take long though for it to work into a very nice story. Good solid characters, an interesting plot and nice world building with a satisfying ending. I promptly bought the next two.

The narrator did a great job. I really like him.

Prague is a threshold, Sarah is warned, and it is steeped in blood. Soon after Sarah arrives, strange things begin to happen. more like 3 1/2. This was weirdly interesting. Kind of all over the place but in the end it worked well enough that I'll read the next one. I'm not sure I was in love with the narrator enough to listen to another, I'll have to think about it, but I will read it. I think what I liked most were the characters. The plot was odd but as I say interesting.

Kind heartbreakingly dark at times hearing about how Vasic was trained as a child but there is so much to like about Ivy, Rabbit and Vasic's friendship with Aiden that it helps balance out the ugliness of his training.

It is well worth the read but then I haven't found one in this series that isn't.

I don't read zombie books but I do read Rowland's other series and like her writing. Last week when Audible had this book on special I decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. Between the great story, characters and narration I'll be listening to the rest of the series.

I'm so glad Allison McLemore does all the narration for this series because she has Angle down pat. Perfect.
