"the narrator had such an irritating drone !"
Is there anything you would change about this book?The narrator - over emphasised almost every sentence. Made the listening experience ghastlier than the stories.
What didn’t you like about Cathy Dobson’s performance?Everything. She was atrocious to listen to. If I had tried this as my first ever audio book experience it would have made me leery of trying another one.
Her over - emphasis was like chalk on a blackboard and really made it hard to enjoy the content. I will have to look for the actual book and read it myself as I could not bear a re-run via the ears.
Was Great Horror Stories worth the listening time?Not with the assault on the ears. If it was possible to get the same audio book with a decent narrator I would be asking Audible for a swap.
Any additional comments?I think I should be able to get a refund on this - I took to letting it run for 10 minutes while I fell asleep and have not heard one whole story of the collection - I have no desire to repeat the experience.
